  • I'm 5'5", between 165 and 170 lbs. right now. I wear a medium in tops, workout clothes, dresses, etc...usually an 8 for pants - but depending on the brand and cut, I sometimes wear a 6. I have a lot of muscle...used to weigh 150 before I started lifting. Comfortably wearing the same clothes now that I did at 150, so I…
  • @ambsnic17 The reset begins once you find your TDEE and start eating there. You need to eat at that level for the duration (usually 2-3 months).
  • I have dumbells going up from 8 lbs. all the way to 60 lbs., and they're all I use. As long as you're lifting heavy, you will see changes! :)
  • I'm doing ChaLean Extreme right now, and getting some great muscle gains. I only use dumbells...I have a whole set from 8 lbs. to 60 lbs. now, but in the beginning all I had was 8s and 12s. I just had to invest in the weights when I could. Use what you have until you feel like you can move up, and are at a place where you…
  • I'm doing ChaLean Extreme by Chalene Johnson right now...circuit training using heavy weights. I love it!
  • Back for a little update, and some more help from you guys! I'm kind of feeling lost, and like I'm doing something wrong. I started my reset eating estimated TDEE of 2300 (according to Scooby, moderate activity level) on August 1st. I weigh in on Thursdays, and my weigh-ins have looked like this: August 6 170.8 August 13…
  • @heybales I have an app on my phone that will show me how my weight is trending for that week (or month) and also lets me enter notes for each day. I plan on weighing first thing in the morning and entering in the amount of calories eaten, info about exercise session the day before, and just how I'm feeling in general. I'm…
  • MandaLeigh - I think I'm going use the scale daily while finding TDEE, and then hide it while resetting. I'm planning on taking at LEAST the rest of this year to fully recover my body and get my metabolism up to full speed. You guys have really been so helpful - I'll be back to update here over the course of this journey,…
  • You guys are freaking awesome!!! Sometimes I feel like I'm in a good mental place with all of this, and sometimes I have moments of panic...lol Thanks for validating my feelings and reassuring me I'm on the right path! While I'm in the process of figuring out my true TDEE, should I weigh every day? That way I can see the…
  • I definitely have some fears about doing an extended reset...I was obese all of my life. I finally am so close to where I want my body to be, but I feel like I'm just stalled! I know that a high calorie deficit is not sustainable forever, nor is it healthy for my body. I just don't want to be the "fat girl" again...not…
  • Thanks MandaLeigh...it helps to hear your story!! I think I'm going to do another reset...this time, much much longer. I appreciate the help, and I'll be back to update!
  • Thanks so much for taking the time to help me! I was eating at 1500 for about 10 months...I'm not really in a rush. But honestly frustrated as hell from being stuck for so long (I feel like it's starting to drive me crazy!) But I'm seeing that the only real way out of this is to take more time. How will I know when…
  • Thanks so much for the comments...to answer some questions: Xavier/Heybales - my workouts are only between 30-40 minutes per day. I have a desk job, and while I do have a child, he's almost 12, so no need to run after him. :) I chose the "moderate" activity level on Scooby (weighing 160 at the time) and it gave me a TDEE…
  • One of the CIZE workout routines is available On Demand, but not the whole workout program.
  • One of my new MFP friends just posted a blog on motivation the other day...here's a link. It's right on. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/xX_PhoenixRising_Xx/view/that-motivation-situation-609960
  • Sent! :)
  • I have been overweight my whole life...as a matter of fact, I weigh less now than I did when I was 13. At around age 16, I hit 200 lbs. and hadn't been under 200 at all as an adult. When I started my weight loss journey, I was 255...I'm 165 lbs currently and I'm still working toward my goal of 150! It CAN be done!!!!
  • 5'5" 165 lbs Pants- 8/10 depending on cut/brand Shirt - M/L depending on cut
  • Thanks so much, y'all! There are some really good ideas in here...the rest week and eating at TDEE sounds good, but I haven't taken that much time off of exercise in over a year! So that may be a bit scary, but I know that I need to do something to break through this plateau! :)
  • Hi Via! Thanks for adding me as a friend, and for the awesome response! :) That sounds like a really great idea to just add the number of calories burned to my BMR # and eat that for the day! Since I workout in the mornings, I'll be able to plan out my whole day...and I was feeling kind of strange about eating 1800 -1900…
  • I've completed 3 full rounds of JMBR at this point...and I've lost 63 pounds. So yes, it does work. The key is to have the motivation to hit "play" every day and give it your all! Good luck!
