"Muscle weighs more than fat." No. It is denser than fat, which comprises both mass and volume, not mass alone.

One bright spot: my Schwinn app still syncs like a champ!

Prednisone and Loestrin were meds in my past that caused major precipitous weight gain. It does suck, and I'm sorry you're dealing with that.
-
That's "See a doctor" level stuff.

Highest ever was 284 lbs in my mid 20s. Lowest adult weight ever is 138 lbs in my late 30s. At 5' 7.5" tall 138 is too low. I need to stay around 155 or so.

My willingness to learn odd new skills just because. My stubbornness in standing back up every time I fall off my chosen path. My ability to demonstrate more patience with myself in the face of whatever borked my damn memory in particular and therefore my cognitive skills in general..

Not necessary, but also not surprising she felt it perfectly acceptable to dispense HER exalted opinion that others should not be disseminating THEIRS.

Yup. No sense tripping over them in the dark. BTW, my sleep bras are pretty much just a half tank top type deal.

I saw a number of pretty options on Etsy, some anklets, some bracelets, some necklaces. There were definitely some tacky options as well, but if you look around (or are artsy/craftsy) you can likely come up with something you like.

Wow. I'd totally forgotten about this thread. That makes sense, since I participated in it ONE AND A HALF YEARS AGO. That appears to have escaped the notice of the person who resurrected it today, then proceeded to send me a private message entitled "Do you have a problem with free will?" Apparently a degree heavy in the…

Yup. More than once. My treadmill is at home, so no human witnesses. Tip: Get all skin AWAY from the darn belt if it's still moving. Those things can give you one hell of a roadrash type spot in seconds.

I've been donating regularly for quite a few years. I'm one donation from the 6.5 gallon mark. Low iron levels have been a problem off and on for years. Keep in mind that "too low to donate blood" for a woman isn't necessarily too low for a woman. The reason the levels are set at what they are is because men may receive…

This^^^ Seriously, unless you are being physically assaulted it is NEVER okay to hit someone else. It doesn't matter what you choose to call it, be it "swat", "brushed off" etc., you hit someone else.

Hope springs eternal though. I'd personally love a magic bullet for weight loss.

Point of order: If my husband of 27 years ever tried to tell me I needed to take pictures of what I was eating and send it to him, or in any other way tried to dictate or overtly monitor what I ate there would be serious trouble. That's not a relationship of equals.

I took the time to chase the rabbit down the hole on this article. The first study cites children with epilepsy. CO was deemed fine for epileptic children with large appetites who could do with more calories. The second study cited involved rats. The rats fed the medium chain fatty triglyceride diet gained less weight and…

OP, you haven't mentioned what base you're on, so I cannot be sure if your commissary is good or crud. If it's a good one, check for nutrition shakes like Ensure near the meds. I know you can't refer your wife for mental health care, but continue to encourage her (don't nag, don't threaten, none of those will work) to seek…

It's one of the main oils I use for making soap. Buy the stuff by the 25 lb bucket for that purpose.

If you want to add coconut oil to your diet in lieu of other fats, cool. It's not some magical substance though. Just a nice fat.

"Do wraps work for weight loss?" is also a guaranteed attention getter.

Your education has been neglected! The song in question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3E-Zrg9CB_Q The link likely won't be clickable, so copy, paste and enjoy. :flowerforyou:

Damn your eyes! Gonna have Johnny Bravo in my head all night now.

 Chill out! You've been doing a superb job. One meal is not going to kill your work.

You're happy, it comes as the result of your hard work, that's a success! :drinker:

It happens. If one is older, or not particularly outrageous, or nothing special to look out it just...happens. It's the nature of the beast. Don't over think it. Some of us are wallflowers here. :glasses:

That's where my problems with maintenance lie. No matter how hard I've worked, it's all hidden under massive amounts of loose skin. I go from "try to camouflage the fat" to "try to camouflage all the loose skin". :ohwell:

Yes. Been there any number of times. Heading there once again. May you find your reality matches the best scenario you can imagine.

That's why if or when I can get my first tattoo Scott Versago is the one who will do it. Anything that will be there for the rest of my life is NOT going to be done by some rank amateur.
-
I do want a tattoo. As a regular blood donor (I needed emergency surgery and 4 units of blood once and feel the need to pay that back with mega interest) getting one would defer me for donation for a full year. Can't bring myself to do it. If or when something else causes me to be deferred from donation for any length of…

A couple of bottles of water, my Sawyer Mini water filter to make additional natural water sources safe to drink, home done dehydrated food stuffs from my stores (yeah, I prep for natural disasters so that's a thing for me) and a few items of clothing to layer with for warmth. I doubt you'll be allowed to build a fire but…
