I don't mind aslong as it's not pervy. Had a nice chat with a man at the gym yesterday, he's run 4 marathons and gave me some training tips and complemented me on the weight I've lost so far. Just because someone give you advice doesn't mean you have to take it. :smile:

Yep my face even goes red in the swimming pool, I don't sweat very much though. I know I've worked hard if I'm still a nice healthy shade of hot pink an hour after a workout :blushing:

yes definitely and vanity sizing has a LOT to answer for. Marylin Monroe was a size 16 and looked very slim compared to your average size 16 lady these days. I get very dry skin if I don't look after it properly. My routine is; I drink at least 8 pints of water a day which I think has a really good effect on dark circles. I second this. Not all men are like that but its ones like him who give the rest of them a bad name. Saying that it could be worse, at least he didn't "pop out for cash" mid date only to be seen 40 minutes later being shoved into the back of a police car under arrest for shoplifting! (yes that really did happen to me)

Wear an hrm and let us know :) ordinary dancing burns a lot. Or log it as aerobics? Or just enjoy and forget about calories.

One song guaranteed to get me moving is iron maiden, running free. Lately I've been listening to audio books when I'm running, getting lost in the hitch hikers guide to the galaxy helps me forget about the pain in my legs :happy:

Thankyou for your great comments, support and ideas everyone. I'm thinking I might go with the upping my net calories to at least 1200 and therefore my overall calories, from today onwards. Any further suggestions would be welcome :flowerforyou:

Thanks, I'd be delighted with even 1/2lb per week at this stage. I only ever set out to lose 1 a week as this seemed realistic at the time. Maybe instead of weights I'll do a class this week x

I either brush my teeth or have a heallthy snack. I find celery or raw carrots the best because they're crunchy like crisps so more satisfying.

I do an abs/core workout every couple of days, swim occasionally and weights for upper body. My cross training this week was digging, raking, and pulling up weeds which was a surprisingly good all over workout as everything is aching now :)

I had the exact same problem in my right leg, I went for a sports/deep tissue massage. It was amazing I went in almost hopping andwalked out reeling great and was back running two days later I can't reccomend it enough. Good luck hope you feel better soon x

These posts are brilliant! My gym has a dojo with different types of punch bags and kickboxing dummies around the perimeter. I went in there at the end of a workout to do a little boxing practice as I had some excess energy to burn off and felt great. I spent a good ten minutes moving from bag to bag punching and dancing…

I'm planning on rewarding myself for each stone (14lb) lost, my first stone reward was getting my ears re-pierced. The next one will be new trainers and if I feel comfy in them by then gym shorts for the summer.

I have sparkling water and ask for a couple of slices of lemon or lime. if they dont have lemons i have a small dash of cordial if i want some flavour. its also really nice with vodka for when you fancy a drink x

I know exactly where you're coming from. As others have mentioned I check online for calorie counts before hand. If all else fails I go for steak with salad and new potatoes and ask not to have dressing on the salad. You can always request not to have cheese and dressings on things like chicken breasts and substitute fries…

Try living in the uk I went out for a ride on Sunday in thick horrible drizzling rain and 9 degrees C and have been riding pillion throughout most of the winter. There's no such thing as bad weather only the wrong clothing. Layer up and get out and ride :happy: :happy: :happy:

I'm a new biker on a 125 suzuki marauder. But doing my cbt on a sportier bike and maneuvering it around for two days solid left every muscle in my body aching. I'm sure riding does burn calories but how many is a mystery lol

Thanks for posting this topic, I ALWAYS carry water whatever the length of my run. I know it doesn't make a difference to my hydration on short runs under 30 minutes but I have year round sinus allergies so mainly breathe through my mouth when I exercise and get really thirsty really quickly. Also for those who only eat egg whites to save on calories, there are only 70 CALORIES IN ONE WHOLE EGG!! How on earth can that be considered a high calorie food????
