Great work on that 49lbs. I have had the same thing happen in the past but mine was at a certain weight. It seemed like it took forever to hit 185. I would get to 186 and then shoot back to 188. I finally changed my routine and showed that 185 who was boss. Now I am around 175-177 and not really "concerned" with the weight…

Great work! Congrats on sticking with it and for sharing your success with us!

I would use 2 miles as you starting point and increase your distance 10% each week. You will be tempted to run as much as your body will let you, but increasing too much in a quick time can cause some problems in the long run. Speed will normally come as you increase your distances and once your endurance also gets better.…

Agree with carroll - Starting off and even for the novice it is important to make sure you are at least giving your body a day for rest and recovery. Some would say you are resting and recovering while you are sleeping... to each his own. I usually get in 5-6 days of workout a week. This will include a 1 hour session of…

Great work! You have to make the time for yourself as you stated. There are 24 hours in a day and it only takes 4% of that day to make a difference. Keep it up!

No work! Glad to see your dedication and hard work paid off!

Thanks! I appreciate it.

I like watching YouTube videos of transformations! This usually does the trick to give me that little extra motivation.

Thought I was the only one that did that? Lol. I have been very bad in the past by weighing every morning, after I eat breakfast, after a workout, and on and on. I have learned that if you follow your workout plan and log your food, the pounds will come off. Most people recommend you weigh 1x a week just to track your…

I agree. People look at you like you are crazy. Which may be true. I have no problems losing weight on the foods I eat, I just need to look for a few more healthier options or at least make healthier choices with the types of foods I currently eat.
-
Wow! Talk about discilpine! No way I could ever get to that point, but may consider expanding my options. Thanks.
-
Sounds like you've been watching me eat!

All views are more than welcome. I would say you are correct. There is nothing dealing with medical, religious, etc that is causing me not to eat the foods other than the fact that I choose not to for whatever reason. Changing a lifestyle of over 28 years if beyond easy but who said it was easy. I would not say that I am…

Thank you all for the feedback. I know it is a tough road and old habits are hard to break. It's weird to think that I "don't" like a food just because the way it looks!

Welcome to MFP. I am new here myself but have enjoyed every minute of it. Be sure to connect with individuals that are going to motivate you along your journey. Good luck.

Sure is. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blackberry Sorry. Thought you were talking about the app. Not sure about the food scan.

Welcome!

When you go to enter your food -> search, right next to the search is a ### sign, hit that and read the barcode.

Welcome :-) From what I can tell, there are tons of great people and an abundance of information here at your fingertips. Take it 1 day at a time and before you know it, you will be reaching your goals. Try to set small goals at first so you do not get discouraged.

Great job! All the hard work has paid off and it shows. I know you are very proud!
