I just tonight got back from a week in Hawaii and I was scared to even think what might have happened to my new found loss and exercise and change in eating habits. I didn't worry about it while I was gone and when I got on the scale tonight, which is not my normal time for weight check, I had only gone up 4 pounds, I hope…

I leave Wednesday morning for my vacation in Hawaii. ..... I been wondering the same thing. I'll watch it when I can, and well, if the choices aren't there, I face up to it and accept the couple pounds and work it off harder when I get back. I can't obsess on the calories that week, I do it enough at home. Good luck to you…

I'm right there with you also. And I guess it's the low low fat. Man, can't win. Need to eat fat to "lose" it, but can't eat fat or you'll gain it. Talk about running in circles.

Congrats, I'm working toward 130 also, but got a ways to go yet. Great job.

Thanks for the info ladies. When I'm on the elliptical, I take the chance of a black eye or worse. I've not been able to find a good support for these MJs. I will check it out. Would be nice not to have the shirt a shaking and jiggling during my workout walks in downtown.

I watch the quality and quantity of food, keep it low calorie, low fat. I do a lot of walking and elliptical. Simple common sense, watch what you eat and you have to exercise. I know it's that dreaded "E" word, but we gotta do it. Good Luck.

58 in Ohio. 28 awful pounds gone, 40 or so to go. And you're right, it is totally different to try and lose and exercise, let alone maintain at "our age". But WE CAN DO IT. Change of lifestyle at this stage ain't all that easy, but it's the best thing we could all do.

DITTO - total lifestyle change, not just a diet, it's food, calories, exercise, quantity, etc etc

Ditto, sure do. But then I have a great friend who is my "diet buddy". We keep each other accountable, we encourage, motivate, commiserate, all of it together. That is a great friend to have.

HELP! I was just about to create a new thread when I saw this subject. I do pretty good in getting in the cardio, lots of walking, elliptical, stairs, etc., but when it comes to "strength" - I am no where, lost, no clue, nuttin, nada, zilch. And when I read some of these, my whole body began to ache and scream and said no…

My sleep record is a wreck. On a GOOD night, I get between 4 to 5 hours. Most often it is significantly less, my tracker has me and 1.1 hours for some nights and i have even been known not to go to bed at all. I have tried everything, change the bedroom, change the temperature, exercise just before, exercise hours before,…

I love the instant Apples and Cinnamon as well. Good, quick, nutritious and great for helping lower cholesterol.

I'll fess up and be honest, yep, I been on the phentermine for 2 months and I was just given my last script, in Ohio, only allowed on it 3 months, then have to be off for 6. I love it. I have no side effects, my energy, motivation, attitude, all are great. I have lost 27 pounds, and the doctor is aware of it. I wish you…

OF COURSE, you can, watch what you eat and can't forget that dreaded "E" word - EXERCISE.....REALLY HELPS. I've lost 27 in less than 2 months. Lots and lots of walking, elliptical, etc. Feels great.

Terminally single. (and gonna stay that way)

Baby steps, Didn't go on all at once, won't come off that way. Every time you see the scale drop 1 or 2 pounds, motivation kicks in more and all them litle ones and twos, add up to something big

yes, I see, on MFP I was able to change the calorie goal to what I wanted, which is much more limited and forcing me to stay on and lose weight. I see the Fitbit with it's high numbers andso I work my way, and gotta watch what I say here. But thanks.
-
OK, help - I can't find on Fitbit where to set my calorie goals? (yes, I admit, I am electronically challenged)
-
Thanks, did not know that......

I right there with you Once a week. I feel you're pain.

I warm skim milk, add the chocolate protein powder, yum, hot chocolate, or in a blender with bananna low fat cool whip, like a Wendy's frosty, only a lot less in calories

So if someone were on low calories diet and called it fasting, the negative stigma of anorexia wouldn't be there?

I too reach for the stars at 5'4".
