Yes, you need to exercise--probably more than you are doing. Strength training and cardio combo -- find something you enjoy. Good luck!

Kraft singles are not real cheese. They are so processed, it's basically fake food. Any whole, real cheese is far better.

If you stay somewhere with hot water/coffee maker, think about all-natural instant oatmeal with add ins, like nuts and dried berries. You can bring that with you and make it in the room. Natural yogurt is a good thing to pick up, too, if possible.

Agreed. What is to anyone if someone wears jeans, is moving slow, or whatever else? Just do your workout and don't look at others doing theirs.

I swam laps for 35 mins, and then I started the Omnicentric Metamorphosis Tracy Anderson Method! :)

I take a lot of classes at my gym, and vary them! I also change my routines often, do different dvds at home, and basically constantly keep my body guessing--it makes it a lot better than doing the same thing every single day.

Swimming is fantastic! I've been swimming and doing an Aquafit class since June, and seen great results. Not only have I lost 4 bathing suit sizes, but my doctor described my heart as "slow, steady, and athletic sounding." Can it get better than that? :)

Good job! :)

Thanks! That why I posted--it really opened up my eyes, too, because I'm usually so fixated on getting into the clothing size I want to be :) Thank you again, everyone!

Good for you! I recently read a great book that you may find interesting. It's called "Knock out dieting" by Signe Darpinian. It talks about how diets and restrictions don't work, but what we need to realize is that we all have knowledge in our bodies about "intuitive eating," so it teaches how to get back to that. One of…

I've been swimming and doing a hardcore (not wimpy) Aquafit class for three months now, and I've lost two sizes in my swimsuit and built muscle.
-
I agree, you need to talk with someone about potentially having an eating disorder. I promise you, help is out there, and you will be very happy that you got it in the long run.

Do you have access to a pool? If so, swimming is awesome exercise and low impact on your knee. Aquafit classes can be amazing, too--I take a hardcore one taught by a great teacher at my local gym, and it's like a water bootcamp. The other teachers are not hardcore, but she is. We use water weights and really get a great…

Well known by whom? In an actual scientific or academic setting, you'd have to cite your sources.

I'm doing Shaun T's "Hip Hop Abs' right now, and in that workout, he teaches you his "Tilt, tuck, tighten" method, which is basically a dancer's versionof engaging the core (he calls it "absolute engagement" in that workout.) He had a good way of testing whether you're tightening your abs--he said, put your hand up to your…
