My nutritionist just upped me to 1200 calories to try and restart my weight loss. I'm having a hard time getting in 1200 a day and I know part of that is mental as I'm still mentally stuck in the thought that you have to lower calories to lose. So I'm going to monitor this thread to see how the rest of you who are upping…

We love to road trip and take a cooler and a food box. What I take for me is protein shake mix, protein bars, cheese, a variety of jerky, some cut up veggies and sliced deli type meat. I make sure to have flavored water as well as plain water. I also take a bag of my favorite low calorie pop corn for when I need something…

I haven't had to deal with haters, but one of my best friends is gaining and I'm now smaller than her for the first time in decades. Along with the weight gain she's out of control diabetic, so her doctor told her he wanted her to have bariatric surgery, so we discussed the kinds and what my food and exercise is like, etc.…

That's awesome!!!

I have the same issue! I use Beauty Control Firm and Fill moisturizer. It really makes a difference. I haven't found anything else that works as well at helping to firm up my face. My only complaint is this stuff is sold by dealer, not in the store. I'm lucky in that my hairdresser sells it. A little pricy, but like I…

I flew from Michigan to Alaska at 4 months out and chewed gum on take off and landing. I didn't have any issues. Try and be conscious about swallowing air as you chew and you should be fine.

Sounds similar to the Chinese buffet I went to a couple of weeks ago. Love that my sleeve lets me know when to stop eating. The variety of things like yours and the buffet I did allows us to choose a lot of protein items while avoiding the things we don't want.

I think it's less a number or a size and more what you are comfortable with as you get closer to goal. For instance, in HS I was 160 and that was 20 pounds overweight. At my biggest, just before surgery, I was 386. My surgeon said my "ideal" weight for my height and age is 160. Really? That's losing 226 pounds and still…

I am 4 years out and had a gain through the holiday. Since I haven't yet hit goal, I'm kind of where you are. I saw my bariatric office for my four year a couple of weeks ago. I added an appointment with the nutritionist because I know I'm doing something wrong but wasn't sure what. She made some suggestions that I've…

I am 4 years out and stalled often all through the last 4 years. In fact I am in a stall right now. Stalls are temporary. Trust the process. Follow the plan and you will lose weight. From my experience and from watching other friends/family who have had WLS, the only way this doesn't work is if you go back to old eating…

That's great!! Keep up the good work!

I can think of a couple of things as I stall often as well. Make sure to get all your protein and all your water (if not more). Protein isn't an issue for me, but getting all my water in is a daily challenge. I simply forget to drink. Also, make sure you really are eating the right amount of calories. I just had my 4 year…

I found it hard to eat initially because I wasn't hungry and actually spent the first year eating on a schedule. Not because I was trying to control myself, but because if I didn't, I would forget to eat. I was told that most people lose their hunger for the first year and then it comes back, so to really get my new good…

Took me several years to get the husband to size them up as I gained a lot in the first few years of marriage. Wasn't until I started college (age 35, married 17 years and without the rings for about 15) that he got them sized as an anniversary gift. Said he didn't want me going to college without my rings. :-) Now they…

Awesome results girl! You look great!

I still feel the restriction when eating dense proteins, but oh my! Give me carbs (crackers, popcorn, bread, etc.) and I seem to be able to eat a whole lot more. I know that most carbs break down more as they are chewed than protein does, and that's why they go down so easy (some call them slider food), but I have no clue…
Pat, you are RAGING AWESOMENESS!!! You are an inspiration to me and OODLES more folks here on this board. YOU ROCK!!! :)
Aww! Thanks Thaeda! <3

That's a great goal Blair! I really wish we had done things like that when the kids were younger and still at home.

I prefer the Syntrax Nectar brand. I've been addicted to the Cappuccino flavor, really like the Vanilla Bean as well. I recently bought and love the Caribbean Cooler! It's a fruity one, mix with water (unlike the other two which I mix with milk as they are creamy). Really good, refreshing and fewer calories than my other…

I went out to the Grand Canyon last fall and was thrilled to be able to walk most of the South Rim (within the National Park that is). For me this was a huge success since before surgery and weight loss I would not have been able to do even 1/2 of it. I did not try to hike into the canyon as I wasn't confident I could make…

Interesting question. I will be watching this.

This is all me! I might add I will never again buy bigger because my clothes are too tight. I will have my (as Thaeda calls then) effit days, but it will be a day or even mere hours. Never again will I allow myself to just give up. I will no longer consider myself a failure if I give in and eat something I know I shouldn't…

I remember mixing meds into the kids pureed fruit when they were little to get them t take something they wouldn't swallow. Of course it was a liquid med.

I was off 2 weeks. I have a desk job so could have gone back earlier but really wanted the extra time to get my food and drink routine set in my head before adding the job back in.
-
I did add the unflavored protein powder to everything for the pureed and soft food phase. I used Syntrax brand as my surgeon likes that one. Totally no flavor but it can change the consistency of some foods.

You may be in first place for the slowest weight loss, but I'm a really close second! :) You are really doing great!

I was like that for about the first year. Now, at 4 years out, I sometimes forget to eat if I'm really busy and I also get like that, feel like I have to force myself, if I'm stressed or upset. It all changes and improves as time goes by.
