One of my customers is Terra Trike, they make and sell recumbent bikes. For me, with my back issues, this is the bike I'm saving for. Regular bikes cause me back pain having to bend or lean forward for the handlebars. I've tried several different styles and they all do it, so I'm going to get a rebumbent bike when I can…

You look great!!

I was sleeved 3.5 years ago, haven't hit goal yet, but I can maintain right where I am like no one's business! Unfortunately I'm still above 200 and my personal goal is to be below 200 somewhere. I applaud you for getting to goal! Welcome back and know that we are here to help you get back to goal!

I use biotin and take double the doseage on the side of the bottle. I also take fish oil for something else but have heard it helps the hair loss as well. I was on the biotin for about 6 months before I really saw a change and my hairdresser said she was seeing regrowth. I will also tell you that I highlight. Between the…

Love it!!!

Great attitude! You can do this! And no, our mistakes do not define us! With your attitude you will be fine!! Pat

I don't know if I have advice, but I am standing right where you are. I went from 386 to 222, then 228, and I can't seem to get back to the 222 or lower. I too have 60 some pounds to goal. I too am so much healthier and happier, but like you I don't want to be done yet. For me, I want to be below 200 pounds and I know I…

Had my sleeve 3.5 years ago, started at 386, lost 164 so far. This is a great group and a great tool! Welcome. Pat

I had this if I drank too fast or too much. What worked for me was using a shot glass. I drank that amount whether it was a shake or water and no more. Waited at least 5 monutes and drank another shot glass. It's easier to sip from that tiny glass. I also found I did better in "sipping" when I used a straw. Otherwise I…

Amen jkern! The surgery will not fix the mental or emotional issues. It only gives us a much smaller tummy! The mental and emotional issues are what can make this a hard journey.

I decaffinated myself prior to surgery because I had to. My surgeon told me about 6 months out, because I asked, that I could have "real" coffee if I had to but he would prefer me not. I do not like the taste of decaf, so I went back to the real stuff. Truth is I am addicted. The only difference for me post op is that I…

Question #1 - Since surgery I have been taken off my BP and Thyroid meds. The BP meds they initially cut in half at about 50 pounds off. By 75 pounds off they stopped them both. I never was on Cholesterol or Diabetes meds, but was very close. Those numbers are now back in the normal range too. Question #2 - I have a desk…

I hit a plateau at 9 months out that lasted for about 4 months. At my 1 year checkup the nut told me I wasn't eating enough, 800 calories a day, and had put myself in starvation mode. And I thought that was a myth! On her advice I started upping the calories, got to 1,000 a day and the weight started dropping again, very,…

Been there done that too! Tomorrow's another day, so get back on track food wise tomorrow and tonight? If you can fit in some extra exercise, do that. It's one day, just don't let it turn into 2, you know?

I am eating around 1,000 calories per day. I fix and bring to work, so Monday-Friday, my breakfast and lunch. Dinner is whatever the husband decides to cook. We shop to my bariatric needs and his heart issue needs, but we primarily eat lean meat and a vegtable. I have a guide for myself that I want a certain amount of…

When with anyone (husband, kids, friends, co-workers) I eat what I need to eat within plan. If I choose to eat something off plan, it's not a big deal because it's not all the time. If I'm with someone who doesn't know about the surgery, like in a business setting, I still eat to plan. I've only had a few people ask if the…

This^^^! I am 3.5 years out and not to goal. I have about 60 to go and stall often. Thaeda is right on target. 150 off is awesome. You might need to change things up a little, couple of days at much lower calories and then one above or adding exercise for a few days and then cutting back to normal. Sometimes our bodies get…

My relationship with ice cream pre-surgery was not a healthy one so I have chosen not to renew the relationship. It's been 4 years since I've had any and I honestly don't miss it. I still occasionally want to visit with the flavored potato chips, but most times can resist. :) Coffee is really the only thing I was addicted…

I think there is a huge difference between guilt and being honest and accountable with yourself. Guilt is a usless emotion in this journey. I agree that a day of bad eating is a blip and not a failure. I don't feel guilt at my 10 pound gain, I feel disapointed in myself. And that is a positive thing. If I didn't, I would…

Isopure Zero is a protein water that counts for water as well. Each bottle has about 40 grams of protein. What I can't tell you, and I'm sorry, is what kind of protein it is. Since it's water I'm assuming it's not the typical milk, soy or Whey based protein. Good luck.

I am 3.5 years out. I have not reached goal, yet. I probably should have reached goal before now and I'm sure if you were to look at my history (food/exercise) you could tell me why I haven't reached goal. But here's wht I found this past holiday season. I was eating mindlessly, what I wanted, when I wanted and I gained 10…

I was told right at the beginning that a sleeved tummy is not happy completely empty. Sounds like that's what is happening with you. I don't have this issue, but I never pushed it. In the beginning I ate on a schedule, not because I was hungry. Really, I still do most of the time.

My nutritionist told me to wait about 6 months for things like raw vegies and nuts because they are too coarse and can cause irratation to the interior surgery site. She also warned that when I can start eating them to be careful due to the high calorie and fat count.

Praying for a quick easy surgery and fast recovery! So excited for you!!

I agree with Rob. I knew going in I wanted the sleeve, having done a lot of research on my own about the band and bypass, but going to the informational meeting just solidified my resolve that the sleeve was the right surgery for me. I had all the tests you mentioned plus a couple more. I needed a stomach scope because of…

Sounds like you are doing great!!

Ypou are still healing and with the complications, it will take you longer than those without complications. But as you heal and get better/more nutrition, you will feel less fatigue.

I also no longer drink water "iced". I lke it cold from the tap, but that's about it. I also drink Sparkling Ice. It's a flavored water, with zero calories and most important for me, zero sodium. However, it is carbonated so I have to shake the carbonation out of it. Carbonation bothers my stomach. For me, I prefer to…

Not heard of it. Grocery shopping tomorrow at Sam's Club and Meijer. Will have to look for this. I bought some Wisconsin's Finest Turkey sticks last time I shopped. Not bad in calories but only 3 grams of protein.

I try and keep one protein bar in my desk or one cheese snack in the office fridge for those times I just want to eat (today!). It helps to have my own stuff rather than some of the candy and such around the office.
