  • Maybe there's something in the air? I slept horribly last night as well. I think it affected my workout this morning too. (I forced myself to go, even though I was very tired.) Beeps - I hope you get good numbers on Friday. I had the opposite of a fast day today. I'm glad I weigh-in on Mondays. Let's just leave it at that.…
  • Yep, two different workouts. I was psyched for them at first, but when the time finally came, I was anxious to move on. Plus my beginning weights for some of the exercises were SO low, I could have done a zillion reps. I KNOW I'm stronger. I KNOW can lift more. So I skipped them.

  • Ok, let's talk Workout B. OMG. It kicked my butt this morning!!! I think (hope) better sleep and eating beforehand will help me power through this workout in the future. It was way longer than I expected. I was at the gym for 1 hour and 15 minutes (even cut down my 10 minute elliptical warmup to 5 min). I was sweating…

  • Definitely going to YouTube some videos on the fspp. Are you supposed to go up on your toes???? I can't see being able to do that with heavy weights.

  • Just did my first Workout B of Stage 2. O.M.G. Took me 70 minutes to finish and I was dripping sweat the entire time!!! Deadlift from box -- I actually liked it. I can see a slight different (range of motion) over doing it from the floor. Bulgarian split squat - wow, tough one. I used the weight bench. Reverse lunge…
  • Congrats Megan!!! 135 deadlifts??!?!? Scared of you! Jennie - I was exhausted just reading your post. How do you do it??? I have a toddler and a stepson who's with us part-time and that's A LOT for me. (Stepson plays travel ball so that takes up most weekends in the fall and spring.) Beeps - Vacationing on Mexican beaches…
  • Those are awesome results. Congrats! Just curious as to your diet plan. Are you eating what the book suggests or something else? I ate a little less than what the book prescribed and I lost weight in stage 1 (granted, I have a lot to lose).
  • Congrats on your workouts ladies and keep up the great work. I seriously felt stronger after just a few workouts of stage 1. It was awesome! So I started stage 2 today and was pouring sweat by the end. After a week off, it felt good to be back at the gym! CanGirl - congrats on those guns!!
  • favorites: 1. deadlift 2. shoulder press 3. front squat push press (just started today; they are weird, but I want to like them!) least favorites: 1. seated row 2. lunges 3. prone jackknives from hell
  • ebaymommy, perfect10isha, and Mylissa - congrats on finishing stage 2!! I can't catch up with you to chat daily, but I will lurk in the Stage 3 forum just to get a heads up on the exercises. :) MrsAgi- sounds like you're doing great. Is this the week you are taking off? I started stage 2 today!! I can't believe how sweaty…

  • RUNN3rmom - you are a beast in the gym! What a compliment! Nix - welcome back!! :) I'm glad you're back is mended and you're ready to roll. Let's do this! emgel9 - tree tops rope course - what?!?! That sounds hard, but fun! Manic4Titans - high protein + low veggie = constipation (at least that's what happens to me, sorry…
  • Congrats! You are doing great. And I HATE lunges too -- with a passion!!!
  • I am not even trying the protein challenge because I'm failing miserably. I shoot for 100g/day but lately am not even hitting that (it's my rest week, what can I say). So it's probably something like me: 1, NEP: 16 -- that's just if I ventured a guess. Emgel - congrats on your squats. And that chocloate bar sounds…
  • Whoa - you are killing it!! I can't even imagine lifting 150 for my deadlifts. Very cool. I'll be starting the FSPPs next Monday. I'm a bit intimidated by the move. I was going to start with just the Oly bar (since my shoulder presses are at 50 total). 70 sounds killer! FunBun - Sometimes life just gets in the way. We have…
  • CanGirl - the pushups stay inline with the other exercises (except abs which go up in reps) -- so 3 sets of 8 reps. You did 20?!?!? You rock! I would suggest putting your feet on a step or using a basu ball -- something to make it harder.
  • I use the weight bench. I would recommend trying to use this (if available), as height is more important than the weights you hold. I read about this on the New Rules website. I'm 5'2". If I can do it, anyone can! I started with low weights (maybe even body weight, I can't remember offhand). Step-ups really get my heart…

  • I'm resting this week and hoping/praying my knee feels better. Alleve and ice really helped. Sam - I have not heavy lifted before. I'm also overweight and have lots to lose (30 more pounds -- at least). I think this program would be harder if you were close to your goal. I do think finding the right amount of calories and…
  • Heather and Mrs. Agi - way to go for Stage 2! Anxious to hear more, as I will be starting next Monday. Not too excited about all the lunges... Enjoying my rest week (seriously not doing anything but walking til Monday); my knee if feeling better already.

  • Heather - Yes, I'm taking off the rest of the week! :) That is good news about those lunges. kmcgaw - welcome! Prone jackknives are evil!! lol The book talks about cardio and how you can work it in. I scaled back mainly because I'm lazy and don't like working out every single day (due largely to the fact that I used to do…
  • Congrats on your first day! And my hat is off to you for that ambitious schedule. If you can do it, awesome. I know there are some suggestions in the book on how to fit in cardio. I personally scaled back on cardio big time - like pretty much didn't do any except for some high-intensity interval training, walking, and the…
  • Just popping over to say I finished Stage 1 and I lost 7 lbs in the process. I have 30 more pounds to lose and can't imagine not lifting to help the process. This program works!
  • *High five Mrs. Agi*!!! Geez, 30 lbs each hand on lunges?? WOW!! Anxious to hear your feedback on Stage 2... I'll be right behind you! lhergenr - yup, for some reason I have always been able to do pushups, perhaps because of my linebacker-like shoulders. And yes, I did 25 lbs each hand for the shoulder presses. I was very…

  • I finished Stage 1 today! I lifted 3 days/week and lost 7 lbs eating at a deficit. Here are my stats: Squats 45 lbs --> 85 lbs Seated Row 27.5 lbs --> 82 lbs Push Ups 15 regular --> 3 sets of 8 with feet elevated (on step or basu ball) Step Up 15 lb low step --> 17 lb weight bench Prone Jackknives (from hell) - barely…

  • Mrs Agi - my last B workout is tomorrow too! I'm excited to move to Stage 2. I went running yesterday and my knee is killing me, so I'm going to take off from lifting the rest of the week and start Stage 2 next Monday. It'll be nice knowing a few of us are starting Stage 2 around the same time (thereabouts). Heather -…
  • I don't listen to music when I workout, but I LOVE your playlist. Can't go wrong with Prince! I love that you have old school and new school. I would probably add some of the new pop music that I love to hate like like LMFAO, Katy Perry, and all the junk I can't remember by name -- but has a good beat and you can dance to…
  • CanGirl - are you doing the AMRAPs? I'm on workout 8A tomorrow, which means Monday, I could be done with Stage 1 (!!!!!!!!!). I think I'm going to skip AMRAPs, take the rest of the week off from lifting, and start Stage 2 the following Monday. Woooo!
  • OMG. Every time I stop feeling sore, it starts all over again! I pushed my weights yesterday and did now my lats are seriously SORE. That's all. :)

  • OK I will bite: You tried on the bras "thanks to your cat"?????? :) DO tell...
  • Megan - when are you starting Stage 2? I'll be done with Stage 1 by end of next week if I include the AMRAPs -- in which case, I will start Stage 2 on the 22nd. If I skip the AMRAPs, I'll be done next Monday, would take the rest of the week off, and would start Stage 2 on the 15th. Maybe we can sync up! I still plan on…
  • I actually posted on my page the other day that I felt like hibernating with these weather changes! lol. I'm totally feeling that way, except I'm -- for once -- very determined to continue working out. But I still want to eat eat eat.... and sleep.
