  • Aside from the Ohio State shirt you look fantastic! :-) Just kidding but I did go to Michigan. However, in here we're all on the same team. I've lost 148 pounds and I only have two regrets. 1) I let myself get the way I WAS and 2) I didn't start sooner. Your story is inspirational to all. Now - for me at least - the hard…
  • LOL.. It is so true. They all jumped on the no charge or $1 signup fee but now locked into a monthly charge for two years. What a deal... I shouldn't laugh, I spent years on that program..
  • I try very very hard to remember the crappy feeling I'll have when I've given into the urge. I may also quickly estimate the calories and think about the exercise I need to do to get back to even.
  • Hi Julie, Hang in there. At my highest I was somewhere near 400 pounds. I stopped weighing in at 394 because I didn't want to know. I've been on this site for about 9 months, can't remember. I didn't collect friends at first because I wasn't sure I was committed. I've lost close to 100 pounds since joining MFP at 375…
  • I like the Fitbit Zip. It's pretty reasonable as well at $59.95.
  • I use to be a power lifter many years ago. We use to do 5 sets of 5 reps each. If you could finish all 5 reps on the last set or two you're not using a heavy enough weight. I realize I've over simplified this but to build you need to "tear down" the muscle. High reps low weights tone and give definition. Like one poster…
  • Thank you to all for the kind words. This site is great!! It's so powerful to reply with a simple congratulations. We're all in this together. Of the millions on this site we all have common issues and stuggles. It's nice we can all help each other with a few kind words!! Happy New Year to all!
  • Congratulations. I also started in 2012 about the same time. I'm down 87 pounds and feel better than I have in my entire life. I'm 51 and was starting to think about just living with being large - sad to even type that now. My only regret is I didn't get serious MUCH sooner but I can't turn the clock back. Lets both kick…
  • Congratulations! I saw the topic and knew the aholes would be all over you. I've lost 81 pounds in just under 15 weeks. Now - I have/had a lot to lose. I was at 375 and want to get to 250. Pre-diabetic, high blood pressure, arthritis in my knees- basically a mess. My decision - which was on my own but my doctor was about…
  • I have clothes that haven't fit in so long they went out of style and are now back in. Some even still had the tags on them! They fit now. Great feeling.
  • Congrats. I'll hit that milestone myself next week or the week after. The last time I was below 300 was 1999. I also NEVER want to join that club again.
  • I love the clothes story. I can now go to an actual shopping mall and buy clothes not a store in a strip mall with the letters XL in the name. Also, my self winding watch doesn't stop anymore due to lack of movement. In fact, I had to take a link out of the watch band.
  • Congratulations. I guess the haters will be after me as well then. I've lost 66 pounds in just under 11 weeks. Now - I have/had a lot to lose. I was at 375 and want to get to 250. Pre-diabetic, high blood pressure, arthritis in my knees- basically a mess. My decision - which was on my own but my doctor was about to take…
  • I actually sprung for an eye level beam (I call them doctors office scales) scale and love it. It's a Seca 700 and goes up to 400 pounds. There is a model that reads up to 500 pounds as well. Easy to setup, easy to use and very accurate. I travel alot and weigh my bag when I leave the house and it's dead on the weight on…
