I use P90x every once in a while, it's good but is not for beginners, I suggest starting a few weeks doing cardio then try the P90x.

Also how fast you walk, I try to keep a fast and steady pace and usually burn 500 with ease.

I don't drink or smoke, and the reason why I used 500 as an arbitrary number is because I'm consuming around 1500 calories a day so if I burned a third of my intake I will reach my goal faster without feeling weak.

Thanks for the encouragement, I think so far the hardest part for me is the fact that I have to do this alone, sometimes when you work out alone you tend to be lazy or not 100% motivated. The beers ( and wine, rum, vodka, cigars ) are all gone and it feels great. Now the challenge is to keep within my calorie limits and…
