Dang. Wow. Dang wow.

What he said. I will drop as much as three lbs during my morning workout. I'm not going to pretend like jumping on the scale while my body is in a dehydrated state produces a legitimate reading.

Fantastic NSV. That's really the reason a lot of us exercise. So we can enjoy life like a normal person. It's just that simple. Great job!

I'm crying here. Holy crap that was funny.

I want an update! Surely the husband is home by now! What happened?!

Polar FT7 - Works great. The chest strap doesn't bother me at all. I totally forget I'm wearing it. Although I did have to order the larger chest strap. The one that shipped with it was too small (for now). I really enjoy mine.

I'm bumping this, just because I want to see your husband's reaction. Or at least hear about it. Your progress is ridiculous. Totally off the hook. Congrats!!

Cut off a limb. And be quick about it.

I eat below my BMR every single day. I'm not dead yet. My BMR is around 2500 kcals. My TDEE is over 3000. My average calorie intake is 1400-1900. But I have a lot to lose. My body can handle it. When I get closer (within 20 lbs of my final weight) I'll slow down and eat closer to my BMR/TDEE but in the meantime I'm doing…

Net Calories = Total Calories Eaten - Exercise Calories If you ate 800 calories but then you exercised a lot that day and burned 800 calories, your net would be ZERO. (That's very bad) If you ate 2000 calories and burned 500 calories exercising, your net would be 1500. Much better.

It's a great idea. I bought a Blendtec blender and I have a green smoothie about once per day. Usually, spinich, banana, and some other fruit. Milk if I'm hungry and need calories, water if I'm trying to be healthy. I'm going to buy almond milk this week and try it out as well. Lots of fruit will mess up your sugar…

You are 100% correct. As you approach your ideal weight, your weight loss should slow down. Your body might already consider itself "healthy" even if you still want to lose a few more pounds. Those last few pounds are sometimes referred to as "vanity pounds" because they are no longer a health issue, you just want to look…

I think you already know the answer. You may not have been in "starvation mode" but your body was clearly feeling like it wasn't getting enough calories so it was slowing down your metabolism to compensate. Now that you've been fed, things are speeding up again and the weight is falling off. I'm not really sure what else…

Coke. The soda. Not the drug.

Correct. I just bought it at Wal Mart last week for $5.99.

You must have missed Rupp getting Silver in the 10k race. He looked pretty happy to me.

Welcome! If I could give one piece of advise it would be this: It sounds like you are making your exercise your primary focus. I didn't have success until I made my eating my primary focus and then my exercise was just an aid. Good luck!

BMI is a load of crap. Get your body fat % tested and then you can set reasonable goals for yourself.

I don't have any problems with mine. The only thing that I don't like is that has a bit of a memory. If I weigh myself two times in a row, on the 2nd time it will snap right to the value from the first weighing. So I "clear" the memory by leaning on a counter to get a totally different value up on the screen. Then I do my…

There are lots of different training plans that can get you up to speed for a half marathon. My favorite is the one on this site. (You have to scroll down a bit) http://www.marathonrookie.com/half-marathon-training.html

6' 1" Started -- 310 (3 weeks ago) Current -- 293 Goal -- 230? 220? Who knows? I'll get my body fat % tested again when I'm around 240 lbs then I'll make a final goal decision at that point. 220 would probably be a pretty good weight for me if I had to guess. But it's difficult to guess when you are so far out of shape.

I've been trying for years, and I had never been able to do it... until I got serious and joined this site. YOU CAN DO IT!!

Yeah, so it seems like I'm double counting some calories burned. My BMR assumes some basic calorie burn for an hour of the day. And then when I work out during the day, a HRM will count those calories as well in addition to some bonus for working out. When I add my HRM number to MFP, it seems like I'm double dipping just a…

Would you mind posting your height, weight and age? The reason I ask is because 2 lbs per week is generally listed as the max you should lose in a healthy manner, but not every body type should be hitting that max. If you don't have a lot to lose, then 2lbs per week might be too much to expect.
-
I agree with this. I still want a HRM, just because I like toys, but I think this is a fair assessment.
-
Did you have to enter your height and weight on the machine before you started? If not, got with the MFP number. To be honest I would probably round down to 600.
-
Are both calculations taking into account your weight, height and BMR? I know the MFP number is. But most exercise equipment is not. So I go with the MFP number as it has a better chance of being more accurate.

Welcome! Yes, it helps to have a good support system. The encouragement from other posters is priceless when you get discouraged or have setbacks. Good luck!

I listen to her podcast every now and then. One of these days she might reach right through the headphones and... Well, you get the idea. That girl scares me just a little bit.

I sent you an add.... If anyone else is looking for serious friends to add who have a lot to lose, feel free to add me.
