  • On & Off again appear to be a weight switch I use more frequently than I care to admit to also.
  • I will be 60 this year and really need to get serious about the weight loss. So, looking forward to checking in for encouragement to keep it moving.
  • WOW! I am visiting the community forums for the first time in years... I think I may make it my last... such drama... oh my!!
  • Wish I could have the same success with Keebler Fudge Grasshopper cookies. But, congrats to you...it has to be a pivitol moment in your weight loss journey...it lessens the ability for food to be a crutch during off days. That's a major hurdle to have jumped over! "Breakthrough" how appropriate!
  • "What is wrong with some people?" Is an extremely loaded question. As far as the comment, it is difficult to weigh in on that (no pun intended) because it truly is all about perception. If you believe it was a derogatory remark...I don't know that any of us can change that. It sounds like you receive a lot of love from…
  • I'm still attempting to not crave in...I mean cave in. Good for you!
  • Never posted to this thread before...but it is interesting that it's about 'sugar not being your friend.' My mother commented: "You know, Cyn; when you don't eat a lot of sugar, or you just cut it out completely, you really lose weight fast! Have you cut out the sugar?" I thought that is what ZUMBA was for!
  • Zumba and Gilad workouts! I am 5'8. So, legs have always been a body asset, if there is such a thing. Husband told me last night...wow, look at your legs! Haven't arrived, yet. But the Zumba and Gilad workouts target the thighs, especially. I don't know if you're willing to invest financially. But as someone who uses both,…
  • Weight loss does tend to make us look younger. You look wonderful and I thank you for posting because it is inspiration for me to hang in there. Go girl!
  • I definitely know what you mean about "getting annoyed" with the whole thing. Be encouraged! It may be best to stay off the scales for awhile and just do what you know to do...that's been my most recent decision. I know I am working really hard to lose the added pounds and I cannot allow the scale to sabatoge it all for…
  • Is that legal?! I mean, child abuse comes in many different forms!
  • I am new to the group but look forward to the accountability. I will be 50 in about 4wks. So, I hope it's okay to join in. My weight increased to a whopping 236 lbs, when it dawned on me that something had to give. Pounds...being the number one choice. I've never been this heavy and could not figure out how I'd gotten…
  • Thanks, JeanneTops! Enjoyed the read; and the advice even more so. Putting things in there right perspective, as you so wonderfully did, quickly STOPPED that pity party I've been having.
  • I really appreciate your responses. I was eating a lot of progresso soup (chicken tuscany with fiber and tomatoe creamy basil with fiber). I noticed they both have a lot of sodium in them. I stopped eating them the past two days and the 2lb gain is literally gone. I had also been eating more Keebler Fudge grasshopper…
  • I have way more than 13lbs to go...but I hear you and am feeling your frustration. I don't know what to suggest. But I encourage you not to throw in the towel. It is bound to happen...at least that is what I keep trying to convince myself of.
  • I'm not married to my treadmill but I can say that it is nice to have. I have tried to make it fun by dancing or jogging or changing up to incline during a 30 minute workout. But I also get out and take brisk walks, and do workouts with Gilad, along with doing Zumba twice a week. I have to mix it up, or I, too, will get…

  • Yes, you can just say...! Way to go!
  • Since I'm considering purchasing a device that tells me such info, I would like to see if there are some responders. I know that I do Zumba in an exercise class and was told that I am burning about 1500 in that hour. But its almost difficult to grasp that as the case when I don't see the scale really moving. On the other…
  • Congrats to you! I'll be glad when I can post the same!
  • I read the article, or whatever it is, and think that it leaves out a lot of other factors. I am now almost 50. I am a military veteran (female); and mother of five boys. So, I can assure you that I was not "sitting on my butt" all day in my job or during my early life. When I injured my back in service I got the normal…
  • As someone who does Fasting throughout the year (religious purposes), I appreciate this information! I have read it somewhere before, because of course you want to be educated when you do Fast. But having had to battle this weight loss issue, in large due to medical issues and medications, I know that I have had days when…
  • Exercise is important! We'll just get that out of the way. However, I also deal with migraines, which are not just a simple headache...making that clear, as well. I exercise daily, in some form or fashion. But...when I sense a MIGRAINE coming on...I decrease my activity and prepare to rest for awhile...watching what I eat…
  • Well, welcome to MFP!! Haven't back long myself. My goal total was 90lbs. I had already lost a about 22 or so before I came back to the site on a more regular basis. I still have a good ways to go. I will be 50 in about a month. Be encouraged!
  • rattykid, I just noticed, as I was reading through this post, you and I have identical weight loss desires. I will be jumping for joy when I make it to 45lbs lost...Congratulations!! Well, took a look and most of what I was going to add...has already been added. Best regards.

  • Then to God be the glory! Your cooperation with Him is still commendable. You look great! Now, pray for me! LOL! (seriously, though)
  • Be Encouraged!
  • I like this article...thanks for sharing. I do wonder, however, if this may be why some erroneously think "Muscle weighs more than fat" or if that is perhaps what their reasoning stems from. Meaning, people who did not know what this article relates...probably have thought that all their exercising has caused them to…
  • I'm sure this has come up but I giving it some attention in 2010.
  • I agree that once in awhile is one thing...consistently is a problem...I learned the hard way.
