A friend of mine had one. They perforated her colon and she almost died. She had to have a colostomy for a while and had to have 2 other surgeries. I don't think it worth the risk.

I've taught kgn for 24 years. I am finding it harder to stay on track this summer with all the extra time on my hands. I have been exercising. I do better during the day when I'm working I bring my lunch and plan my snacks, but evenings get challenging, especially when I have a difficult class which is happening more and…

I can't tell you all how good this was to read! I have sooooooo far to go, and I've been trying to lose weight since I was in elementary school. It's good to see what's real and what's the wrong thinking in my head. I wish that I could save this thread for later. Thank you so much!

Very helpful tips!

I'm doing DailyBurn.com's Beginner's track. I walk on the treadmill 5 days a week for 30 mins. and do weights 3 times a week.

I was an overweight child. My mother didn't bring junk food into the house. She cooked nutritiously. I was determined to get what I wanted because I was eating over a trauma that happened to me very early in life. If I was taken and put into Foster Care it would have been another trauma! I would have be so so so…

I love my Fitbit flex. I was really not moving enough each day. I will just get off of the couch and march in place or walk around the house just to make my steps goal. It's amazing how happy I get when I get that buzz on my wrist and the dashboard happy faces pop up. It really does motivate me to move more. I'm happy I…

I'm 54, diabetic, perimenopausal with hypothyroism. I'm now 5' 1 3/4". I USED to be 5' 3". I SHRANK!!! I almost cried when they measured me at the Drs. office. I hadn't been measured in a long time. I was upset because it meant I had to lose EVEN MORE weight than I thought. I'm still bitter   I've been on MFP…

Oh! So sorry you lost your Fitbit. To disconnect click on Apps heading. Under featured app, you'll see Fitbit tracker. Click on the words Fitbit tracker. It will take you to a screen where you will see disconnect. I would think that's it, but I didn't click it because I didn't want to disconnect mine.

That is definitely my mode. I'm a teacher, so I'm so busy during the day that I don't think about food. At night, look out! I have been trying to really pump up my protein consumption during the day. Protein drinks, protein bars etc. The days that I have really been successful, I consume much much more protein during the…

Kind of seems to me that she might feel threatened by your resolve to get to a healthy weight.

I have OAS, but really haven't been to an allergist. I violently vomit if I eat any raw almonds or if I eat fresh carrot with the skin. The older the carrot, the easier for me to eat it. I'm also allergic to strawberries (I get hives). I'm sorry I don't have any recipes but I just had to say it's just good to "hear"…

I went for a walk! I am starting to exercise for the first time in a long time. Yippee!!!!

Yes, I'll log. I will probably go over my allotment.

Yeah, messing up is not the end of the world. It's just practicing for success. Just don't give up.

I really understand exactly what you're talking about. I have had this battle my whole life. I am in my 50's now and as I look back, I wished that I beat this addiction earlier in my life when it was easier for my young body to let go of weight. It gets so much harder to lose as you age. One thing I did, I got good therapy…

I have been back on MFP after a long absence. I have been diligently watching my calories and exercising almost everyday. My weight jumped up 8 lbs over a few days. It's 2 weeks before my period. Does anyone else retain this much water with PMS? It's freaking me out and I'm trying hard not to be discouraged.

Wow! Congratulations! You look great. Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring us so.

Wow! you are more than half way there. You only have 100 pounds more to lose! Congratulations on your amazing accomplishment! I have 258 pounds to lose. I started at 392 and have lost 40 pounds. The road is long, but it's ok. I'm just living. The time would pass anyway. I just happen to be eating better. I'm not deprived…
