Man that video makes me cringe everytime I see it.
-
Both videos in that article are horrible form. The guy in the first video was kipping his knees to get those 20 pullups and the lady in the last video looked like ...I am not even going to say it cause it is mean. kipping pullups are cheating. Kicking your legs up during chin ups is cheating. How do you figure that using…

A year is more than enough time to go from 0 miles to 13.1. I went from running 3 to 13.1 in 12 weeks using this training schedule http://www.swranch.org/swhalf/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/2012-Beginner-Runner-Training-Schedule.pdf There are several sites to help you train and manage a regiment for race. Good luck.

Yes we can say the problems were causes by the food they ate. Have you read the china cancer study? A lot of current studies are backing this up. I would go find all the links and current studies but I am too lazy to do your research.

injured or torn rotator cuff.

I try to only run outside except when it is too cold to do so. Any other weather is running weather. In fact I have been running in rain storms the last couple of days. For cold weather layer up, light cotton hoody, beanie and gloves. How weather light clothes with a runners shirt to wisk away wetness so you will sweat…

Running and a crap ton of boxing :)

/|\ this for sure. Way better options to getting your calcium and other vitamins that any type of animal product
-
Yeah because eating/drinking highly processed food is healthy. Skim milk is crap food and to be honest you need to do your own research on the topic. Also this is not the only site that has these facts. You all tell the OP to provide better proof because you don't believe them but I don't see one single person posting any…

I would say running, body weight exercises and boxing. I did p90x and then a modified P90x with weights and just got tired of it.

pushing it is one thing but pushing your heart at 90% work rate for a period of time is not the best idea when you have not been active in a period of time. At then end of the day you need to talk to your Dr. about this.
-
Sounds like you might have runners knee. Take it easy and do some reading on it. If it still hurts after a few days of not running go to the Dr.

off race season. 3-6 miles a day Race season. 3-13 miles a day Fitness level: Advanced.

What kind of pain is it? A dull pain or a sharp pain? Where on your knee is the pain? Does it hurt when you walk up stairs, down stairs, flat surface?

yeah it looks like you are pushing it to me. But Truly I dont know what your heart rate is other than these charts telling me you are at max. What are the real numbers and how long were you in each of these zones.

Will210, the weight will vary for people. At the boxing Gym most work out with a 15 lb ball while younger fighters will work out with as little as a 8 lb.
-
Oh yeah I love those things. You can do situps holding it to your chest, do uneven pushups, core twists, if you have a partner you can do situps where you throw the ball up to your partner when you are all the way up and then on the way back they throw it down to you. You have to focus on cushioning the ball. These are…
-
you cant isolate the lower and upper abs no more than you can only flew half of your bicep.
-
When doing situps or any other type of body weight exercise you must make slow, smooth moments maximizing your effort. Using your momentum is a waste of your time and your effort, will get you hurt and you will not get true gains from it. As far as working out with your spouse, kinda falls under loaning family money or…

Sorry about your injury, You could do RICE (Rest, ICE, Compression and Elevation) for a few days before you go but I would be concerned with the pain being in the back of the knee and you saying its locking up.
-
WOW that is a broad injury, Anything from runners knee (doubtful) through torn ACL or Meniscus Tear. I only say ACL cause you say it feels like it is going to break backwards. If you were to ever have a reason to go to the Dr this would be it.
-
to be fair to the poster and the Cross Fit community, I am certain that we only ever see the idiots and bad trainers. Just with any sport, activity or training you will have your good, bad and terrible people.
-
Don't start out too fast, its easy to get caught up in the excitement and burn out quickly. Eat carbs tonight, and a light breakfast an hour before the race. Most of all have fun!

You wont need a barbell. I would recommend looking at the adjustable dumbbells at walmart because you will be doing several different routines and you wont be able to do the same weight for say a tri kickback and a upright row and you dont want to slow down your routine by changing out weights. If you cant afford the…

First off congrats on finishing the C25k. All the above have good ideas. Since you like the structure of the c25k try getting the bridge210k. I tried it and then dropped it in favor of training for a 1/2. I also see you are a fighter as well and with that in mind speed and distance will greatly improve your cardio for when…
-
Not to sound like a broken record but that sounds like an injury and you should go see a Dr as soon as you can. until then you need to RICE. Rest Ice Compression Elevation.
-
Good luck to you and with your foot healing.

Yeah but all that lifting wont do nadda for your heart and your cardiovascular health.
