We'll work on it. I was Army and saw the light a couple of years ago :)

When I guessed that my weight was "about 275", was afraid to step on a scale for years out of fear of the truth, then found out I was over 300.

It has worked for me so far. If the scale is still reading the same, you may be losing body fat, but gaining muscle mass. One suggestion is to measure your abdomen, hips, height, and neck and calculate body fat percentage using US Navy method <<http://www.wikihow.com/Measure-Body-Fat-Using-the-US-Navy-Method>>

I noticed that, too. Go to the Apps -> Tickers menu and select "Update Weight Data" and double check that you entered you starting weight correctly.

Don't weigh yourself every day or you'll just drive yourself nuts. Once or twice a week is fine, but make sure it's about the same time every day. Weight loss is not linear and does fluctuate due to water retention, sodium, urination, etc. One other suggestion is to measure percent body fat, as opposed to weight alone,…

Excellent job! Keep it up!

Make sure you're getting enough water. I find that when I am dehydrated, my motivation and gym performance declines.

Firstly, I would suggest talking to a doctor to determine how much weight to lose. Your BMI is 21.3, which is already at the lighter end of the healthy range, and from your photo you do not appear overweight. Strength training is always a good idea. When starting off, do not overdo it. I use a combo of six exercises three…

Hi. I started at 314 and am working my way down. Low impact exercises are key. I do incline treadmill walking, Nordic walking, elliptical and swimming as well as weight training. If you find walking difficult, perhaps try Nordic walking using trekking poles. They may help take some stress off your hips, as I have found…

If you don't mind my asking, what is your height and weight at the moment? From your photos, you do not appear to have to lose weight.

I am 44, obese, and have osteoarthritis, about to get my right hip replaced. From this experience, I would recommend to others not running until you are near your ideal weight. I usually use elliptical machines and walk on incline treadmills using interval workouts, which I find are sufficient to get my heart rate well…

You could try some light and healthy snack options. Here are some suggestions: - 1 Fruit - 10 Almonds - 15-20 Pistachios - Ryvita crackers and hummus - Apple & 1 tbsp. peanut butter - 1 Fibre bar - Veggies with hummus - 1 slice whole grain toast with peanut butter

I am with the majority of the responses. I think you may have an eating disorder and recommend seeing a doctor without delay. This is raising some red flags. If your doctor refers you to a psychiatrist, do not be alarmed because there is nothing shameful about it. It is not because you're "crazy". I talked to a…

I just note the start time and walk around Halifax, NS on various routes at a pace that will challenge me, then note the end time. When I get back home, I plot it on Google maps and do the math to determine the average speed. For those who have not tried Nordic walking (with trekking poles), I highly recommend it. It…

Your day-to-day weight is going to fluctuate for the reasons others have mentioned (sodium, period, water, muscle mass, etc.) The main thing is keep working at it and don't give up.

You're actually at a healthy weight right now, with a BMI of 23.8. Starvation diets can reduce lean body mass, thus promoting fat gain. I think what you're doing now is good with a healthy amount of calories and nutrition combined with exercise. If you happen to indulge once in a while, it's not worth worrying about, as…

It is difficult to lose weight that quickly when you are near your ideal weight and not advised. Honestly, you do not look fat in your photo. Do it gradually at 1-2 lbs per week as recommended by this site. If you try a crash diet or any of the fad diets, you will likely lose lean muscle mass and gain body fat when you…

I started at 315 in mid-March and weighed in today at 290. I'm aiming for 186, but will assess body fat when I reach 200. First week on this program was very successful (about 5 lbs), possibly due partly to water excretion from lowering sodium intake. On average, it has been about 4-5 lbs per week. Mainly I'm sticking to…

A brisk walk can be just as effective as running, with less impact on the joints. Moreover, if you have access to an incline treadmill, you can experiment with slopes. Since I am obese, I choose to walk to minimize impact on my arthritic hips. When the treadmill is on an incline, I find this an excellent cardio workout.…
