I'm short to average (just under 5'5") and eat about 1200 cals a day, though I do go over that too! I'm mainly focused on my macros per my nutritionist, but i log EVERYTHING because she audits MFP for me regularly. Happy to be a friend if that helps!

Sounds like it could be PCOS.

My goal is to be back skating by the end of 2013.

Bump for later! Thanks!

I bought my Danskos last November/December. I waitress every weekend. I'm still wearing them and getting regular use out of them. WELL WORTH THE $120. Best money I've ever spent on footwear, and I own LOTS of shoes ;) I probably wear them at least 60 hours per week, no joke.

FOOTWEAR: DANSKO. CLOGS. They still fit the professional atmosphere, and as someone who had their ACL completely reconstructed in march of this year, feel great for your feet, knees, and hips.

I'm going to second the use of a fitbit! I LOVE mine! I have a desk job also (and coincidentally, and also 5'5" looking to weigh close to your at goal weight) and my calories are set to 1380. With the use of my fitbit it automatically brings up my calories for the day to around 1500-1600 (which is close to my BMR of 1532…

I have found MFP to be WAY more useful than WW online ever was! First of all, the android app for MFP is much, much better, I can scan a barcode image to get the calorie count! I find that the community on here is great also. Get lots of friends, people are extremely supportive! I only did WW online for about 3 months (I…

I wear a headlamp if I'm running in the early hours (before 7:30 AM), cars and other pedestrians have no problem seeing me!

I was going to suggest it could be the meniscus as well. I went 3 months not knowing I had torn my ACL!!! You'll need an MRI to really know if something is wrong. Good news is that if its the meniscus, it's a quick easy fix. If its a ligament or arthritis....you've got a long road ahead. It could also be bursitis in the…

I just started with a Personal Trainer this week, who was like "Yeah, you're gonna learn to lift weights". I want some GUNS! ;)

Keep something special in your desk for those moments of weakness! I find that a skinny cow chocolate bar is THE BEST! Totally helps to kick that sugar craving!

I'll send you an add as well. I began C25K 5 weeks ago, and I'm running my first 5K on November 3!!!

It's not always about losing the weight! I've only lost 6 pounds in the last couple months, but i LOOK and FEEL different. Just wanted to point that out, losing eight isn't so black and white. To the OP: When I was a freshman in high school, I weighed roughly 130 lbs (I was skinny). But I thought I was fat, so I started…

I appreciate the feedback....and I'm willing to admit that veggies are really difficult for me, because I'm a picky eater and don't really like many veggies. I was eating a LOT of salads, and get so incredibly bored with them that I've stopped eating them for awhile until I can love them again. I suppose I'll have to work…

The cardio class also incorporate some really great resistance/light weight training. EX: in RIPPED (the interval class) the R stands for Resistance, and I used 4 lb handweights and we did 5 solid minutes of arm exercises, with no breaks. So does S&S Dance class, we use weighted bars, handweights, and resistance bands.…

Food Diary is now viewable with a key. If you're reading this, the key is 19 (as in the number nineteen). Thanks!

WOW. Now I really, really wish there was crossfit in my area!

There comes a time in every trip through roller derby that each player must re-evaluate what drew them to it in the first place, and sometimes, those reasons are gone. I'm curious about whether this new league thoroughly explained the commitment and skill level that is normal for them. Being someone who made a similar move…

24 from NH...always happy to have new friends!!!

i have seen it argued on here that 1200 (or less) cals every day causes your body to starve, so that when you do have a bad day (no judgment, we all do!) your body grabs all of that fat and carbs, and stores it away, because it thinks you are starving for the most part. No idea if that's true, maybe it is for some, maybe…

20 pounds in 8 weeks?! That's a lot! To the OP - I've been on MFP for about 2 months now, and I've only lost like 3 pounds. I see no noticeable difference in my body, or the way that any of my clothes fit. I have been working out over the last month, roughly 4X per week (I switch it up between 30 day shred, c25k, a body…

THIS is the exact type of advice I was looking for! THANK YOU! I'll see what I can find out! One thing I've been constantly looking for, and cannot find (in either local food store option) is fresh kale. I wanted to make kale chips because a friend gave me a recipe, and I can't find it within a 30 minute drive! And the one…

Yes they do sell the basics. But as an example, one week I was looking for bell peppers, and there were NONE. Not a single one in the entire store! How does a grocery store NOT have bell peppers?!
-
It may be cheap where you are, but in my region, with gas being almost $4.00 per gallon, and living more than an hour from the nearest interstate, prices, even at wal-mart are NOT cheap. Not only that, but the brands that are sold are not always what I'm looking for. I'm talking a bag of fresh cherries (when they were in…

Eff that! I played roller derby for 2 years in fishnets and hotpants. I'm 5'5" and I was anywhere between 155-175. Love your body and how it looks, no matter what your size! If YOU feel good wearing it, then you'll probably LOOK good wearing it! Who says you have to wear a leotard anyways?!
