Always a distance, and at a set speed. Longer slow runs at the weekend (8/10 miles) , faster tempo runs often on treadmill (5/7 miles) and a recovery run in between each (5 miles). If you run for a time, what happens when you're not back home when your time runs out? :p

That's one of the simplest, clearest and most succinct success stories I think I've heard here for ages. Nice one!

I use it like a salad dressing - so chicken, cherry tomatoes and leaves of some sort...

Once you rack, you never go back :-)

Yes it is - being closer to the ground increases the effects of gravity, up to 10 - 15%. If two people have identical mass, the smaller one will weigh more because of this.

I love running, and have been doing it for years. But I still get tired / out of breath / all those things. I think it's because the better you get, the further you go, or the faster you go. So you're always pushing yourself and that means being a bit uncomfortable. But once you see the benefits it all becomes so worth it.

I ate ice cream, cheesecake AND beer last night, and I feel great for it :-)

I recently bought the 230 on special offer, and the Garmin HR chest strap - all in, cheaper then I could find the 235. I love it. A good looking everyday watch with activity tracking, smart notifications and very customisable: watch faces, apps, data fields. For running it it a one button effort to turn it to GPS tracking…

Ah. Even on their own first page of that link they put quotes round the word "detoxifying", showing that they know very well it's not a real thing.
-
Please please PLEASE link to the information you've been reading. I want to see whether it is medically sound, researched information, gossip, or a sales pitch. Even just link to the one most convincing argument for "detoxing the body"?
-
Take the long term view. Nobody starts off running 60 minutes a day - let yourself be a beginner. And if you enjoy it enough, and you keep going, in a year people will be asking YOU how you do it. :)

I'd love to read more about this study, and what it proved. Can you point me in the right direction?
-
No.

Brilliant! Half marathons are the perfect distance (because I said so) and you've run one. You may find that one leads to more, though...
-
Once a week try a tempo run - maybe a slow mile to warm up, then 2 or 3 miles at a faster pace (like "race" pace) then a mile to cool down. This made a tremendous difference to me as a 10k and half marathon runner. Good luck!

Where do I buy this Detox Myth? Will it help be lose belly fat? I'll pay, anything, if it has "detox" in title. Is it to do with kale?

I'm pretty sure I'm a feminist, but it can sometimes feel like there's always a bigger feminist out there waiting to tell me I'm wrong... Anyway, my goals are (at 42) being the best I can be, an example to the young people I work with and some serious good mental health from exercising. And I think it makes me look good,…

Decided to "go for it" on a rowing machine. Blacked out on the changing room toilet floor for a bit...

I tried to read every review I could find on this kind of thing, and all I came up with was that the wrist ones are still generally inaccurate, or at best I found conflicting opinions about certain brands and makes. I had a word with myself and realised I didn't need my heart to be constantly tracked. I don't really think…

For a while I really enjoyed chunky soups for lunch - quick, filling and tasty. I didn't call it a "diet" though, just lunch.

Mmm, Die Hard smoothie...

You can totally train for, and complete, a half marathon next year. I keep touting this as a great long term planner - http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/racing/runners-world-smartcoach/3057.html Count back from race day and look at working in 12 week blocks. You'll do it.

Cottage cheese :)

It's to do with how recently I ate or drank for me - I need to let my food/water go down or I can get one.

"That American girl in Ireland DOES fancy you!"

This - discovering that I enjoy running and lifting and will do both with joy, rather than as a chore.
-
You can do it from inside the Garmin app on your phone - More>Settings>3rd Party Apps, I think.

Highlands raised but now lording it in the capital - small town to big city and I love it!
