Weight loss is not linear!
I just thought I'd share this; my -4kg journey from this summer. I recorded my weight each week then each fortnight and as the picture clearly shows, it's not always a downhill run! Take heart if you have a gain week, and persevere until the loss weeks win out.

The best thing about running isn't running...
In fact, running is only the THIRD best thing about running. The enjoyment of actually running only lasts for as long as you are out there, putting trainer to ground, moving those limbs and breathing hard. But that only lasts along as your run - from maybe 20 minutes to...an hour or so? The SECOND best thing about running…

MFP's recipe reader
Ok, just a heads up that this brilliant facility exists on the site (because I didn't realise...) I use a lot of internet recipes in an attempt to try new things, get new ideas. The page http://www.myfitnesspal.com/recipe/box allows you to paste in a link to the recipe page which is then scanned and automatically sources…

Gave myself a break?
So this happened - I am a gym 3 times a week, run 3 times a week half-marathon hero. I check calories, watch fat and snacks, blah blah blah but was fairly stuck at 74kg. Running in the Mardis Gras marathon??
Bought new running shoes yesterday; they are amazingly comfortable, but the colour... Well, at least with clocks going back I'll be mainly running in the dark :glasses:

Gym membership photos
I just had a thought - when you join a gym they often take an ID picture of you for their computer files; it'll come up on their screen when you swipe a card to confirm it's you, if that's how your gym works. That means that every picture they have is probably of people at their worst, when just joining the gym! It's us…

Staying motivated after reaching your goal
Here's a quick thing I experienced which doesn't get mentioned much. As you lose weight you get lots of landmark weigh-ins and helpful, positive comments from friends. Remember though, once you reach your target weight, or you take part in the sports event you have trained for, those landmarks and comments will probably…
