There's a theory going around now that if you cut the processed foods and exercise you don't have to do much else. I'd love to see that one tested. My grandparents generation didn't have as many weight problems as my parents and mine. I have to wonder how close to the mark that theory might be.... but that's OT sorry I'll…

If you cut out cheese and carbs what's left to eat? Just nuts and meat? I would think cheese would fit right into a no carb diet.... just curious

I can't say I was not even slightly more active then my heftier friends but I can say the difference in our activity was minimal enough that my calorie intake should have more than made up for it. I can tell you when I started to put on the weight I was just as active as I had been for the previous 5 years at least.…

I would agree that people like me are definitely not the norm and that in most cases physical activity or diet are behind the differences...but not always. I do not have trouble gaining at in my tummy now that I can gain though.

I wonder if he can explain the skinny person who eats more and is not any more active than their not so skinny friend. It happens something causes it. Maybe I don't understand metabolism. My understanding is if you can eat more calories without gaining weight you would have a higher metabolism than the person who eats less…

Isn't it somethin? For the 1st half of your life you can't pay to gain weight. Then slowly you start to gain and don't really notice it until it's late enough you have to bust your hiney to reverse it.

Xactly!

Well start believing it because until age 30 I was living proof of it. I consumed 1600 calories a day in drinks alone. I ate what I wanted, when I wanted and how much I wanted. I didn't sit on my butt all day every day but I didn't exercise and wasn't particularly active. Is it common? Probably not but I've known a few…

Where to start? 1. My ankle can't handle the impact of running and an aerobic DVD workout is a faster calorie burn than walking 2. I work from home so when I'm done working I pretty much just hop right into my workout (15-20 break sometimes) 3. I don't even allow my other half in the room when I work out 4. Right now its…

OT I love the Sandlot and especially the pool part back to your regularly scheduled program err thread.

Isn't it more about balance? You know a little fat, a little carbs, a bit of protein and so on?

I have promised myself we'll have a garden next year. I'd like to keep a couple of chickens but we're planning on moving so it'll depend where we move to.

My goal is more a size than a weight. I'm 5'8" and wear a size 14. My goal is to get down to a size 10 at least preferably a 9.

My 1st thought was the H*@# you say! :D I'm new to this and not long ago coffee was breakfast, lunch, snack 1, snack 2... you get the idea. When this was the case I often had no appetite for a long time after waking up caffeine sometimes works as an appetite suppressant. Amazingly I have had NO coffee for 3 or 4 days now.…

I'll have to get a more recent picture of him up... He's huge now and not so fluffy but he's very soft and he has thumbs. He also has 10 digits total (he thinks he's human).

I like turbofire (just started today) but it's hard to keep up with at first because they combine so many moves so quickly. I did enjoy it when I could keep in step. I feel like I should duck on this one because I've seen NO ONE mention it on any of the fitness threads but I like Tae Bo. I find Billy motivating and I like…
