WOOHOO, Kendal!! Running a mile after 60 minutes on the treadmill = rock star. Nice work!!!

This feels like trolling to me, but in case you're genuinely curious, here's my answer. I've been veg for almost 15 years now, although in the past year I've added wild caught fish back into my diet. My choice is pretty much just because of the hideous way most animals are treated before they die and how inhumanely…

Thanks for your answers so far! I'm genuinely curious about how everyone else does it....I used to think I knew everything I needed to know about weight loss, but the more I learn the more I realize how much I don't know. I've been freaking out lately on days that I work out and my net is way under what I think it should…

I've heard people say that about a HRM before and while that may be true, what other way is there to get any kind of estimate at all about how many calories you burn while working out? Counting calories isn't a completely accurate science either, but it's the best we've got....wouldn't you say that, while not 100%…

Okay, I'm spending way too much time on MFP lately and I've noticed a couple of things I want to get your opinions on. 1.) There seem to be plenty of people out there in the MFP world "starving themselves" and continuing to lose weight. Looking at people's diaries it's not uncommon for me to see people eating 900 - 1200…

I'm going by that calculator too, but since it takes exercise into account I'm not adding those exercise calories into the total. For example, it tells me to eat about 1700 calories a day (except on zig zag days), but this is based on the fact that I told it that I exercise every day. So I try to eat 1700 - 1800 calories…

First, I don't think that your friends and family are lying to you -- if you look anything like your profile picture, you are adorable! However, if you're looking to make a change you've come to the right place. I started using MFP this summer and the friends I've made here inspire me on a regular basis. Welcome, and good…

Ha! That's just what I was going to say. When you work out hardcore, your body needs more fuel -- that's why you're hungry. If the gas light came on in your car you wouldn't say "What can I do to turn off that light besides give the car gas?" Listen to your body and give it something good to eat to help fuel those…

I can't see your food diary, but it sounds like if you just eat a little more you should be able to break out of your slump. Input your numbers into a free calorie calculator -- like this one: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm -- that will help you figure out how many calories you should be eating to…

I use my FT4 when I go swimming; the calorie burn seems accurate and it works perfectly. Just don't push the buttons while you're underwater and you'll be good to go. I love being able to see my calorie burn while swimming!

Weigh-in for today: 213.2. I lost my vacation weight plus some more! Happy Monday to me!
-
Pam, you're super on top of things so you might already have this, but my weigh-in for today is 213.2. I lost all of my vacation weight plus some more! WOOHOO!!
-
Quick weigh in and then I'll catch up later: ******************************** 213.2 ********************************** HOLY COW, I lost all of my vacation weight plus some more!!!! I should whine about the scale more often, I think that works for me. Super crazy happy on this rainy Monday morning!

An Americano is barely any calories at all if you don't put cream in it -- it's just basically espresso and water. A misto is good too -- half coffee, half steamed milk. If you get a misto with soy milk, it makes it a little sweeter. For just a little more calories there's always a simple tall skim latte.

I'm going to Olive Garden tonight, and I've been meticulously planning out my meal since last night. No breadsticks! I found out that their salad is a super sodium salad, so no salad either! I swear, it's like I'm planning a strategic attack on my stomach. I'm trying SO HARD this week to make up for the 2 pound gain from…

This thread works for me!

When MFP closes a thread they automatically open a new one with the last thing somebody posted, so the continuation of our old thread wound up here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/355158-winter-onederland-closed-group I'm fine with using this thread though (I like the "Take 2" description  ) but I just…

Kiki, thank you thank you THANK YOU!! Those look just like the cookies I make, and I think it's a nearly identical recipe. The big difference (HUGE difference) is that the recipe you posted calls for applesauce whereas the recipe I've been making uses Crisco (yuck). I can't wait to try these! Annette, here's to your May…

I'm doing that thing again where I'm weighing myself daily and wanting to shoot the scale. Last week I ate under calories every day (even on the weekend!) and exercised every day and gained 2 pounds, (which I can only assume is from eating poorly the week before). This week I've also been eating under calories and…

Right now I'm reading "Prince of Tides" and I'm really liking it....much better than the movie. I just put "Those Across the River" on my to-read list; it sounds good!!

Victoria, I like your P90X schedule. I need to create something like that for my own workouts, because as of right now I'm just doing the "what should I do today....I guess I should run..." thing. I need to get a more serious schedule going! Rain, woohoo on getting your water in and making good food choices! I'm not so…

We've all felt like that before. Don't be so hard on yourself though...you're working to change things! Look at it this way, if you let the scale get you down and you give up now, 6 months from now you're going to feel exactly the same way that you're feeling right now. If you keep going, 6 months from now you'll be a…

Well all, I signed up for my first 5K! I ran over 2 miles outside this weekend and then walked 2 more after the run, so I figured that I'm ready to at least run/walk a 5K. I am going to try to run the whole thing, but I think there are some pretty big hills on the race route so we'll see. It's a night run (starts at…

Are your muscles sore from your workouts? Sore muscles tend to sort of "soak up" the water you give your body in order to repair themselves, so often if your muscles are sore your scale will be up due to excess water weight. Don't worry, it will all work itself out!

Last week I was all excited (and shocked) when I lost 1/2 pound after eating so horribly on vacation...well, it caught up to me. This week I'm up two pounds, and it's not even TOM! I've been under calories all week and exercised every day -- sometimes twice a day -- so the only thing I can think is that the crappy eating…

Remember how I was all excited (and shocked) last week when I lost 1/2 pound after eating so horribly on vacation? Well, it caught up to me. This week I'm up two pounds, and it's not even TOM! UGH! I've been under calories all week and exercised every day -- sometimes twice a day -- so the only thing I can think is that…
