i get your sentiment here, but the WHOLE REASON i chose MFP is convenience.....i don't want to spend over 10 minutes a day logging food....it is boring and time consuming.....convenience is key.

what you are missing from your equation is this- i serving of broccoli is 30 calories, whereas a serving of hamburger helper is (say for argument) 800.....one is a meal for $1, the other barely qualifies as a side dish.

Furthermore, please do read this post from another forum i frequent - the poster is incredible - there are several studies cited as to the "whys" the cycles of obesity/poverty - it was eye opening for me (as I know i am "privileged" to shop in good grocery stores with fresh and organic produce....and I am thankful)…

i hate to disagree, but I disagree....you can buy broccoli on Sale (e.g., $3) - but nutritionally that represents 100 calories total. If your calorie allowance is 2000 per day, you can do the math on that.....you still have to get the 1900 additional calories from somewhere. By contrast you can buy 4 boxes of Kraft Mac n…

I don't know why it is true - that those that lose weight tend to retain XL calves but it has been my observation as well....(myself included)!

This may be old info, but i have heard ~1200 calories for the women and ~1500 for the men. Obviously with the amount of exercise they do, they are way into the negatives on Net calories.
