  • Very simple answer to your question. You are not getting enough calories. I'm sure if you go by the T25 guidelines and figure your required calories you'll find you are aiming way too low.
  • If you log everything you can pick away at it throughout the week and work on maintaining a daily average. If you don't log it you're more likely to accept it as a free day and realllllly go overboard.
  • Definitely make sure your shoes are good for all the vertical moves. When I started Insanity I actually had pretty bad knees and wore a brace on one for added support until it got strong enough to eave the brace off. I haven't needed a brace for about a year now and have absolutely no issue with my knees anymore.
  • Patience and take it a little slower if you need to. You will catch up. The max workouts are definitely no joke. Make sure your diet is in line too. If you don't have the fuel it will be harder to complete.
  • I've been through Insanity 2x, Asylum, and Asylum 2. You'd be surprised how much it works your legs. Base & Core are keys to good fitness and Insanity works them hard. You definitely need to concentrate on your diet and getting enough calories. I work out early mornings and quickly learned that if I didn't get enough the…
  • Great job on your weight loss and fitness journey. I'm a regular here as well. Over 400 days straight posting and I workout 5-6 days a week regardless of how busy life gets for me.
  • Always willing to help. I'm a regular here and have posted for over 400 days straight.
  • Time to get started. I waited until I was 48 and now I have changed my life. Now the kids in youth group want me on their teams when they do games and I have no problem keeping up with the 15-18 year olds. I'm looking forward to 50 and spending many more years with my wonderful wife and family. Any advice I can give is…
  • Have you just recently started exercising? Sometimes your body will retain water when you first start working. Or is it just a plateau you may be encountering. I actually hit a couple while I was in weight loss/exercise mode and had to actually up my calories a couple hundred to break the plateau and jump start another…
  • Be proud of yourself that you did it at all. While you were out running that 5k, many others are still sitting on the couch complaining about how they feel instead of doing something. I starting running last year and was only doing 2 miles in 25 minutes. I was happy to be doing 2 miles. I finally pushed to doing 3-4 miles…
  • You've done it once, now it's time to suck it up so you won't have to suck it in. Pick yourself up and let's get this done, it's a lifelong process and if you take it slow and steady you'll get it done. I wish you the best. Make it goal to stay plugged in here and it will become just a normal part of your daily routine.
  • Learning to eat daily and work to get fit is something more than most diet plans teach you. I've been at this and plan on remaining at it for the rest of my life. Join me if you want any support. Always glad to help. www.destinationfit4life.com
  • Feel free to add me if you like. I'm always on MFP and if you stay plugged in, i'll be sure to post often enough.
  • Always willing to help. I'm a regular on MFP logging over 400 days straight.
  • Nice going, I just started week 4(Bulk phase) yesterday.
  • Let me know if I could be any help. I lost up to 48 lbs.(gained some back through weight training but waist still the same) and have gotten into the best shape of my life. My goal is to keep it going and be even better by 50 in a few months. I've logged on here over 400 days straight and also have a support group on…
  • Time to make time. I work from 6am to about 5pm most days and also spend many hours after with family activities. I started waking up at 3:30am in order to get a workout in before leaving for work at 5:30. It's been over a year now and my routine hasn't change. School at 8:30 is late.
  • Let me know if I could be any help. You are starting MFP at the age I did. Not as heavy as you were but I did lose up to 48 lbs. and have gotten into the best shape of my life. My goal is to keep it going and be even better by 50 in a few months. I've logged on here over 400 days straight and also have a support group on…
  • If you are eating 1200 or less and working out I would say you are not eating enough and your metabolism is slowing down. Contrary to popular belief among dieters, you need to eat enough and exercise in order to boost your metabolism. You are just burning muscle and storing fat.
  • I'm starting BodyBeast on Monday and just had to up my calories and adjust my ratios to be in line with their recommendations. weighed in at 155lbs and it's telling me 2800 calories @ 50%carbs/25%protein/25%fat for the first 8 weeks.
  • nice going. I just ran a half for the first time yesterday.
  • I'm here on MFP everyday and you're here and asking for help so at least you're starting out right. I'm always willing to give any advice I can.
  • Always a willing participant. I'm here everyday and hit over 400 days straight logging.
  • I just saw your last couple of days and would definitely make the suggestion that you increase calories. You may or may not bump up initially but you aren't even hitting the 1200 number. You body is slowing down to save itself from your low calorie intake.
  • Sounds like a plateau to me. It may be time to think about upping your calories. Not knowing your BMI and TDEE I can't say for sure but that would be my first guess. I had to go up and down several times to break plateaus. The first time I tried it and added 200 calories to my day I lost weight the very next week when I…
  • DIET / EXERCISE / PATIENCE Very simple. I'm still working on it after over a year. Getting closer every day.
  • First off, if you think 5lbs is pathetic your mind is not in the right place. 2nd, if you're only eating 1200 calories and working out 5x a week, you are almost certainly not getting enough calories and can actually cause your body to fight the loss and try to store fat. Your are looking for a quick out and that's…
  • If you like carrots try them. Just take the time to chew thoroughly and you'd be surprised how long they last. Of course water is a huge help. If you add protein to your diet it will help curb the appetite.
  • I log everyday and have for over a year. If I can help motivate please feel free to add.
  • You're finally on the right track. Whatever trainer would ever have someone on a 700-800 cal diet should not have the word "trainer" in their title.
