Hey Mary Lynn As they say the only place from rock bottom is up so there is always a positive, I am slowly reaching that place myself with more than weight being an issue I have other demons to deal with but looking forward now I want to get things back on track. Good luck, there are alot of good people on here.

I have about 150lbs to reach a comfortable weight but think I am going to change my scale to 50lb segments to have a realistic short term goal. I always wanted to lose weight because I didn't like other people thinking of me as being overweight....if that makes any sence. Now I want to lose the weight for me to be healthier and happier so hoping I can stick with it, already fallen off the wagon this week but normally I would just give up but MFP is helping me…

Hey Pussnboots, I would say go with your doctors guidance he knows your history better than anyone. The journal is a great idea and if you use the food diary on here it totals your calories for the day. Once you cut out all the high calorie / fatty foods it isn't too hard to come in under the 1200 calories. Feel free to…

Its great reading so many positive stories. I am hoping small goals will keep me going I am tipping the scales at 301lbs as of yesterday. Hey, You have pretty much described my life in your first post I am trying to think of it as a lifestyle change rather than a diet. My long term goal is to lose about 150lbs but I know if I focus on this I will lose heart when I don't see immediate results. I plan to try and take it one step at a time and see where it gets…
