Hi,
I have been on this site before but never really took it seriously but I am at the point of now or never I guess. Weight has always been a problem since my mid teens I am now 27 and weigh in at just over 300lbs, in the past I have always figured if I could do my work and enjoy myself it didn't matter how much I weighed but its now getting to the point its affecting my life, I was offered a job in Australia and backed out because I figured I wouldn't pass the medical with a BMI of 45 (apparently above 40 means further medicals).
So here I am, I have a bike and a pair of feet which I plan to use for a change and a desire to put things right in my life and be the man I know I can be.
Don't know how the buddy thing works but if anyone wants somebody to talk to drop me a line, I am not kidding myself on I know it will be hard but as I said one step at a time..............I will get there.

Fabulous attitude! I am a big believer in one step at a time - there is a great book about it called "One Small Step Can Change Your Life: The Kaizen Way" by Robert Maurer, PhD. It's about the Japanese philosophy of kaizen, which is about small steps to success. Super good, and in my personal belief, super worth it.
Feel free to add me as a friend - this site has been the biggest tool in my 37 pound weight loss over the past year. Best wishes!0 -
Thanks aapike22,
My other goal is to spend more time away from the internet ( except MFP) and explore other things including reading so I will add that book to my list.0
