I do the same thing when I have a significant scale victory, for some reason my mind thinks it's a free ticket for eating anything and everything in the cupboards.

I'm not always successful, but whenever I get an urge to binge, I lay in bed and hug my pillow until it passes. Sometimes doing a puzzle helps distract me, but at times the craving is too distracting for me to do anything but lay down and wait it out. The cravings do pass... eventually.

Suggestions and encouragement don't hurt, but at the end of the day, you have to motivate yourself. No one can do it for you.

My mother in law tries so hard to lose weight. She's more diligent than I am by far and yet she can't seem to lose more than 5 pounds. It's been months and I genuinely feel for her because she works so hard. She's in her mid 50's and going through menopause. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but maybe. She's…

I have to say that I am damn lucky with my husband. He works his butt off to support us (I'm an artist who earns near squat), always helps out with chores when asked and even when not asked, and is happy to handle the heavy stuff for me because I have annoyingly weak arms. I don't hear him **** talking about anyone really…

I'm doing the 6w6p one day a week (I have 6 different workouts to do during the week to avoid boring myself). I just started last week though, so I can't say how effective it is yet.

To the person who posted the pun raccoon... you forgot this one:

It's really corny but Claudia Schiffer's Perfectly Fit series eased me into exercise when I was just beginning and was completely out of shape. It's divided into 4, 30 minute workouts. I did one a day when I was first starting out. There are a few hard moves in it, but I would just skip them at first or not do as many…

This is the best and most accurate method.

Painting picked me. I tried so many other things in college and in life because I knew being an artist leads pretty much nowhere, but art is my only natural talent so I gave in eventually.

I'm related to some past governor of Virginia who drank himself out of office. Supposedly there were also some Swedish ladies in waiting on my mother's side but I'm skeptical of that.

Doctor's scales destroy your self esteem for the rest of the day. I imagine they are accurate too, which makes it even more depressing.

There's a whole failblog dedicated to bad tattoos. Some are worse than others. http://ugliesttattoos.failblog.org/ If someone has already linked this, I apologize for the duplicate.

I've often heard it said that no question is a stupid question, but the amount of times I've asked a question and had an angry reply is past the finger counting point.

I've never driven a car.

Every time you go in the kitchen, have a glass of water until you reach 8 cups spaced through out the day. I usually make it to 8 by 3pm or so. Sometimes I'll go for more than that, but for the sake of not having to go to the bathroom all night, I usually stick to just 8 during the daytime.

Losing a close friend is one of the hardest blows in life. I feel for you.

The fact your doctor shot you down in a really rude way would send me to another doctor pretty much immediately. I mean even if you were wrong, that sort of response seems out of line. Maybe I'm just overly sensitive though.

If it's something that's been going on a long time and is really affecting your life in a major way, I would see a doctor about it. *edit I missed the post where you said you were going to talk to your doctor about it. Sorry.

An exercise a cross country coach told my friend to do in order to avoid getting them was to draw the entire alphabet on the ground with your toe. Once lower case, once upper case. Do it every day. I'm not sure if it works because I've never bothered to do it myself, but I can vouch for my friend never getting shin splints…

I got mine brand new off an ebay-like site called trademe for about half the price it was at the store. Don't fall for the ridiculously high prices you see at sports shops and such.

Music and good scenery make for a great running experience. Treadmills... not so much. *I missed the not liking music part. Good scenery still stands though.

Mine was born in 1865 and I'm 29.

No because I still eat so called "bad" foods in moderation. There was nothing to merit a last meal.

So I can fit in my husband's suitcase during plane trips and not have to pay for a second seat.
