Mine hasn't since the trouble first started... :(

Breathe. Haven't needed daily asthma meds since September. Walk 3 miles without being out of breath and my feet hurting. Wear heels. Ride in smaller cars without my claustrophobia requiring frequent (often frantic) stops.

Sorry if it shows up twice. Thought I posted before but it doesn't show up for me now.

Close family and friends have been telling me that they could see a difference but every time I looked in the mirror I still saw the me that started 6 months ago. I have felt the difference health-wise, stamina, etc. but couldn't see it. This morning I passed a mirror and something clicked. 73lbs lost and I can finally…

1st picture is my ID pic taken 2 weeks before I began my MFP journey. The second is 174 days in and 73lbs down.

Walden Farms makes 0 calorie dressings but they are very high in sodium. Walmart carries it.

Feeling more comfortable going to sporting events, expos, and even shopping, because I know I can walk it without holding everyone else up. It's so nice to not have to ask for a table just so I would have room to sit. Wearing pretty shoes again without my feet hurting all day/night. With some of the compliments I've…

I have lost 67 lbs in 5 months with changing my caloric intake, but I have a lot more to lose. I have difficulty making a lot of changes at once, so I told myself that I would give myself 3 months of only working on my diet and then look to add exercise. I started the first month totally on nutri-system to help me adjust…

Exactly. Although mine will be more than a few months. I try to focus on how far I've come, not how far I've got to go. I notice the changes in the way some of my clothes fit and the way I feel health-wise, but I have to work hard at not being discouraged because I still see the old me in the mirror. I still have to fight…

A little all over, except my arms. Ironically when I was young and athletic I was very trim upper body and my thighs were my biggest trouble spot but that's where I've lost the most inches so far.

I was able to buy a pretty bra off he rack for the first time in too many years to count. I completed a workout video that I last tried at my highest weight and could barely get through the warm-up. How unhealthy I was is finally coming into focus and I am a bit ashamed. It wasn't that I didn't know it, but I am an expert…

I used it to get started and it helped me adjust to smaller portions without freaking out and had excellent results. Because I knew I couldn't afford it for long and didn't want to be on it forever or put the weight back on when I quit using it, the second month I started slowly substituting healthier home-cooked meals.…

I logged into MFP and used nutrisystem for the first month and in the second month I started replacing those meals with healthier recipes that I tried and liked. The Nutrisystem helped me get used to portion control and I didn't have to think about my meals too much. As I realized I could live on less calories, I was more…

I believe you have just explained why I was at a practical standstill for 3 weeks and it feels like a 'duh' moment for me. I hit 38 lost fairly quickly, my calorie total was lowered, and I was at a period of increased desk work resulting in less activity. I've not been able to exercise much due to a stress fracture in my…

I am very new at this but have noticed that I have more trouble fighting my cravings if I allow myself to get 'too' hungry. My best days are when I have something every 2-3 hours. Bigger meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and something small in between. Not having any problems staying within my calories and am now…

I've noticed that some, and have also started researching the nutrition more for accuracy. Thank you for the link.

Pretty good this week, but about 2 weeks ago, really blew it. Dined out for lunch and supper in the same day and was in a mode of 'I'm tired of caring' and ate what I wanted and finished with more 2.5x my calories for the day. I was embarrassed to see it in print, but realized that it was how I used to eat all the time and…

I was/am also ashamed of how far I had let myself go, needing to lose more than half my body weight, and fought the same depression cycle you described. I was fortunate in that my Mom purchased one month of nutri-system for me to try. I knew that this program worked because it worked for my mom and that was a motivator for…

I use my asthma inhaler less frequently--used to be everyday, now less than 1x a week. I can carry a large, full, laundry basket from my house to my car without getting out of breath. And today, I discovered that I can now reach my arms behind my back and clasp my hands together. I have such a long way to go, but…

Sometimes on days where I feel anxious about my weight loss journey, or for some reason can't shift my focus from food, it has helped me to go ahead and enter my meal plan for the day into mfp, mentally make a general eating schedule, and see where my calories will fall if I follow it. I make sure the initial meal plan is…

I've only been on this a couple of weeks and did really well the first week or so. Then I had a couple of days I was over by a little and then Sunday it was by a lot. I was pretty upset. My husband gave me a pep talk and reminded me that I wasn't perfect and if it was easy everyone would be doing it. He told me that he…

Congratulations! I have very similar goals and are thrilled to see someone else get there!

Change can be scary at any age. I'm 44 and a little scared myself. Mostly afraid of failure I think, but not sure. I've only been on this site for 11 days but love the support and the control that it gives me. You can do this!

I didn't grow up amish, but my dad's family was mennonite and i attended the Mennonite church with my grandparents until I was about 6. I have a large family on his side that is both Old Order and Mennonite.

I'm new to this too and in the past let the frustration of too much information and too much contradiction derail my attempts to lose weight (among other things). I saw this site and felt it was an opportunity to see just what I do. I am focusing on calories right now, taking really good notes about my days--feelings,…

Glad to see others reply on here that they're taking it slow. I found in past attempts that too much at one time became overwhelming for me and made it easy to give up. I am focusing on my eating habits right now and trying to exercise some but not forcing it just yet. I use our XBox Kinect to get some indoor exercise…

I currently weigh 350 lbs at 5 ft 5 in and age 44. I am a former athlete who struggles with depression, social anxiety/phobia, and low self-esteem (even in my prime). I am now taking meds to help the mental. I have tried dieting before but was so overwhelmed with the do's, don'ts, and differing stories on what works and…
