I didn't grow up amish, but my dad's family was mennonite and i attended the Mennonite church with my grandparents until I was about 6. I have a large family on his side that is both Old Order and Mennonite.0

Don't they not use electricity and therefore a computer/internet? How would they be on MFP?0 -

Yeah you're kinda cheating haha but there are alternatives to using electricity. You could do as the caveman and use a hammer and chisel loll0 -
Not Amish, never even been to Amish country:blushing:
But I would like to welcome you here anyway :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Times have changed, even for the Amish. There are still some who don't have electric though.
I'm Apostolic and am often confused with Minennonite and Amish. Are you still Amish or raised and left?0 -

They may have grown up Amish but chose not to join the church, therefore leaving their Amish community, or they could be on their Rumspringa which is a time usually following their schooling in which they are able to experience the ways of the world before their baptism into the Amish faith.0 -

I watched a documentary on the Amish once, so I pretty much qualify as an expert now.
It was pretty interesting.

Ok I think I should have explained myself a little better. My husband and I grew up Amish but never joined the church and therefore we have electricity, phones, and computers. Most of our families are still Amish though.0
