  • Did you ever get it reset
  • I've had a lot of health set backs and spent a year not losing weight. The only thing that has kept me going forward is knowing that at the end of the day this is MORE about my being healthy than it is about the scale. I have spent years throwing in the towel due to no results. And as soon as I realized this is more about…
  • Honestly... I learned a long time ago how to freeze leftovers. Way back in my single days. Everything from roasts to pasta (rice is the only thing I don't like to freeze it's too mushy). Cut your recipes in 1/2 then freeze the leftovers. That way when you need variety or a quick TV dinner... you already have something in…
  • Just checked out the spreadsheet. :) Was wondering when to check for a new challenge?
  • HI! My name is Jules. I'm 4'11". 36yrs old (YIKES). I've got over 50lbs to lose. I have health issues that can stall my progress but since this about changing my life... it's not really ever stalled :) Starting my healthy journey a few years ago has always been about Me and the rest of my life. :) Feel free to add me :)…
  • I was afraid of the same thing. I like logging my workouts because I like the feedback and support from my MFP pals. So when I first got my BM I missed the interaction with my pals. I decided to just log them and see what happens. So here is what happens. I sync up every morning before I get movin' and lets say BM adds 600…
  • I use MFP for all my logging. The main reason I have never used the BM site for logging is that I use the recipes section of MFP pretty religiously. I don't use a lot of pre-made foods. So I didn't want to lose my recipes by changing to a new site or having to take the time to "re-create" them. But that also means I didn't…
  • I've lived here most of my life. I moved here when I was 2 and spent 4 1/2 years away when i was 18. I hate the summer heat. But love love love some of fall, winter and some of spring. :) I love being just a few hours from snow and would be in heaven if the ocean was just as close... ok that's wrong I'd be in heaven if…
  • I agree... Sometimes if it's placed funky on my arm it won't register. i've also placed it up side down on accident... it works... but seems to cut out. I know DOH!!! I remember my first day and I couldn't hear the beep at all. And it took much longer to register being on body than I would have expected. But turns out once…
  • Your little guy sounds just like my 3 1/2 year old. Since he's my 2nd. I've learned to quit stressing over "what" he does and doesn't eat. I still get a nagging thought in my head sometimes, but I squash it. His Dr says he's healthy... so I don't stress it. He pretty much eats PB&J every day for at least 1 meal. If he…
  • i used to be hungry all the time too. Until I put away the idea that I couldn't have certain things anymore (I stopped "craving" things by doing this). Like cheese, sweets, etc... every meal I make (except cereal :) ) I add vegi's too it. So every sandwich has lettuce and tomato. Makes it "bigger". So most my dinners have…
  • i agree... wear it until your being drenched. A little rain won't be much worse than sweat. But downpour is when I'd take it off. :) good luck!
  • Goodness.. the real question is what can you NOT make with shredded chicken. Taco's, enchiladas, soup, any type of pasta dish, Any kind of chicken sandwhich filling (BBQ, waldorf, tuna style, etc...), green salad topper, the options are endless. Really, any kind of chicken dish that you would normally use a whole breast…
  • I think it depends on your mindset and your personal goals. For me... This is my real life. I'm not doing this to lose X amount of weight and then I'll be able to eat or do X again. I'm doing this to be healthier. Which means whatever I do today... i have to be able to do when I've reached my goal BMI. That means I don't…
  • So... Although I agree with what a lot of people have asked... I'll put out there what I have yet to see anyone say. :) But I'm basing my advice on the following: 1. that your eating a healthy amount of calories to not hurt your health 2. you have a food scale so therefore you are accurately accounting for every bite. 3.…
  • Not sure how old your son is... but I have a 6yr old and a 3yr old. I push the 3yr old in a stroller when i go out walking and when my 6yr old comes too... she rides her bike or I just go at a slower pace. Any kind of moving is better than none. :) When she complains... I remind her that mom is trying to get healthier so i…
  • Look on craigslist or check out FB. Look for swip-swap pages for your area. Might be able to find one for really cheap. In the mean time... Check out youtube for workout video's. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and have been able to try lots of different kinds of video's and different kinds of "trainers", even…
  • i have the same problem in my ankles, knees and elbows. I don't know if it's related to my having RA or not. But since it doesn't hurt I just keep pushing through. My elbows however make me sick to my stomach when I'm doing tricep exercises with hand weights and they are by my ears. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard. :)
  • I won't say what everyone else did. :) hahaha!! So... because your mom is making your meals and I assume plating them up for you to eat when you get home and since you have a spring loaded scale, just weigh each thing you're eating. So quickly just take them off the plate and put them on the scale and write it down. You…
  • OP I agree with everything everyone has mentioned. But one thing to ask yourself what kind of meds your on and what are the side effects of those meds. I have RA and I'm on prednisone which makes you retain water and bloat and all kinds of ugly. Works great for my pain... but not for losing weight. Most people on…
  • I really liked using cardiotrainer. But now that I have the bodyBugg I'm down to just that and MFP.
  • It's hard getting on track. I know how it feels to be limited in what you can and can not do. Especially when the things you can't do are affecting the body parts you want to change the most. :) If you want you can add me as a friend. I have my slip ups and have my bad days, but I always try to encourage and support the…
  • I admit I weigh myself just about every day too. BUT you should not enter in your weight each time. People above me are right, you're body fluctuates. So pick 1 day of the week where you record your official weight for the week. Usually the end or beginning of your week. And if you can break the habit (yes I need to break…
  • You can add things that are higher calorie into the meals you're already eating. :) So with your smoothie get adventurous and add things like nuts, avocado, regular yogurt not fat free, HELL low fat ice cream even. :) For lunch you can add cheese, pasta or bulk the meal (I realize bulking size wise isn't the problem I mean…
