  • Yay! I was third this week!!!!! Now if I can only keep that up, I'll officially get off this darn plateau. (I've really been hovering around 240 for a while now) Good job ladies, keep working hard!
  • sitting quietly in the background not participating in the social aspect.... Seriously, though, there are a bunch of guys that are really active. Try looking through some of the more popular topics in the boards to find them. I understand that support from your own gender makes more sense, and that men and women have…
  • I work on a college campus. Yesterday I saw a girl walking across campus in short shorts, a shirt almost long enough to cover her short shorts, and stilettos. It looked awful. However, I'm a bit of an "out there" dresser myself (retro/vintage styles are my favorite), so I'm pretty accepting of whatever people want to wear.…
  • ^^this. I broke my big toe a few years back and have only recently been able to wear heels occasionally (used to wear them every day!). Flats have been my lifesaver. Professional enough to wear to work, comfortable enough to wear the rest of the time. I also know women that have done major damage to their feet and Achilles…
  • Wait, do you mean you hate it when people mix patterns, or that you hate prints altogether? *looks down at polka dots on cute retro dress I'm wearing*
  • My ex-husband was like that, too. One time he asked me to put away a picture of myself from high school. I thought it was because it was me and an ex-boyfriend. He took the time to correct me and tell me it was because I used to be hot and he didn't need proof around the house. Then he would bring home fast food for dinner…
  • Seriously, I felt kinda weird even sending it to you! haha. Thanks again!
  • I got some at Wal-Mart. I managed to get a double pack for the same price as the regular (100 count for $6), so not TOO bad. They are so tiny! I don't know what I was worried about. Thanks everyone!
  • Thanks, Kory, I'll look for those.
  • Thanks, everyone! I'm in Chicago, and while I could sit in the sun most days over the summer, it doesn't really work past September. Also, I'm a pasty ginger, so I burn super easily. I'm not against taking supplements, it's just that I have a very difficult time swallowing pills, and they can be expensive. I guess that's…
  • My ex-husband once had me put away a picture of myself from high school. Initially I thought it was because I was posing with the guy I was dating at the time the picture was taken. Then he said, "no, it's because you were so hot back then and I can't stand to look at it." Jerk.
  • I stayed home and painted my spare bathroom on my break, so I still tracked. Ah, the sad vacations of the penniless.
  • I say try what kappy suggests, and if that doesn't work, talk to your doctor. Weight loss can lead your body into some strange places and hormonal imbalances.
  • It sounds like she asked you to help motivate her, and then got offended when you actually did. That's not fair to you /or/ her. Unfortunately, I think we all have friends like that (I know I do), and we can't make them do anything. They have to make the choice themselves. Kind of like 12 steps, step 1: admit you have a…
  • You can totally do this! Unfortunately, my lifestyle is very different from yours (recently divorced, no kids), so I won't be much help in the exercise department. You never know, though, you might find out your kids like walking with mom in the evenings, or something. It's quality family time and good for them, too.
  • Sleeeeeeeeepppppp! I can never have enough. And I'm single. lol Seriously, though, I sleep through most weekends. I've been that way for about 10 years. I was hoping the weight loss would help, but it hasn't.
  • Rach, I just weighed in this morning @ 240 even. I usually weigh in on Mondays, yesterday was just a fluke! lol. Thanks for putting this together!
  • I have a friend that uses it for EVERYTHING. I spent the night at her house last week and had dinner, dessert, mixed alcoholic beverages, and breakfast. I know for certain she used it in everything but dinner. I didn't notice any particular difference, and she didn't specifically measure it. She used it in more of a "to…
  • lol, for me it's low compared to my HRM, unless it's cleaning or something (seriously, 2 hours of cleaning, 900 calories?! doubtful)
  • I'm still a choco-holic. I eat a chocolate flavored protein bar almost every day, and I absolutely CAN NOT resist when my boss has chocolate pieces on her desk. I love fruit, though, and I always have. So I just don't keep much chocolate around the house, and I'm fine snacking on the fruit or yogurt.
  • I've done it both ways. I walk outside a lot, so my new light-weight foundation with SPF 15 is actually kind of useful. I tend to break out from sunscreen on my face, but not from the foundation. I think this is a situation in which you'll need to figure out what works best for you. We all have different skin types and…

  • Try the Crystal Lite-esque drink mixes. At some point you get used to it. My mom occasionally puts of few drops of lemon juice or lime juice (like for cooking/baking) in her water to flavor it a bit, too.
  • My mom recently had this issue when she tried switching from creamer to milk in her coffee. Switching back seemed to help. I personally drink a fiber-rich fruit/veggie smoothie most days and that helps. I definitely think fats are the way to go, but I know you'll get varying opinions. I have no specific suggestions,…
  • Mine is pretty spot on, too.
  • I don't know how long you have until your birthday, but I recently bought this book from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0761130357 It's called "Small Batch Baking." The treats aren't necessarily lower-fat/healthier, but each recipe serves 2 to 4 people, so you don't have leftovers! It's great.
  • My mom tells me stories of when she was in Weight Watchers in the 70s and women would be *so close* to their goal weight that they'd strip down to their undies and re-weigh. Now, if you weigh at home in the bathroom, that's acceptable, and a lot of people do it, but if you're weighing in a public place, good luck!
  • I have not successfully bought an every day bra in so long. I've lost very little weight in that area. I've been wearing 42DD for years, and when they started getting too big, I bought a bra on clearance that was 40DD. I really think I needed 40DDD, though! At least in that brand. At least it was clearance.... I've taken…
  • Oh, sweetie. I feel for you. It's so difficult to be in this place. Just remember you need to love yourself. You need to do this for you. It will never work if you're doing it to make your loved one's think better of you. This is about you and no one else. You are a gorgeous woman, and people will see that if you believe…
  • Great inspiration! Just remember that 10 year olds tend to get chunky because their bodies are preparing for puberty and growth spurts. Fitness is great, but don't let her get a bad self-image.
