I went to a theme park with my family and couldn't fit/barely fit on most of the rides. It was completely mortifying, and then when I got home I stepped on the scale for the first time in 6 months and was horrified. I want to be able to do things and have fun and not be thinking about how FAT I am the whole time!

I've kind of noticed it in my face, and my mom said my legs looked thinner. But I'm still 300 pounds haha, my fifteen pounds down is like a drop in a bucket!

True. :( I knew what I was doing was awful and I knew I was eating a ton of calories, I can't lie and say it blindsided me. I just didn't care, either. I had my lap band taken out and didn't care anymore.

I'm once a month right now because my bathroom scale isn't very reliable. I'm on a physician-supervised program now so I get weighed in once a month with them. If I had a better scale I'd probably be on once a week though. Maybe for Christmas!

Gotten some really great feedback! I do tend to eat more on the days I work out, but I really try not to to eat all/any of my exercise calories back. I don't feel hungrier than usual, really. I get what a lot of you are saying about needing to eat those calories back so you're not depriving yourself, but I really don't…

I'm a junior and I will be taking the GRE next year as well! I'll send you a friend invite. (:

I once made the mistake of leaving my backpack unzipped downstairs with my puppy. He ate everything! A whole pack of gum, the ends of my headphones, half a mechanical pencil, a tube of chapstick, etc. I was worried about him getting sick but he seemed to be just fine!

I added a bunch of you but I can only send so many friend requests at a time! Anyone else should add me. (:

I get what you are saying though, and the point that most of the other commenters seem to be missing. You want a guy to like you for you, not JUST because you are big. I want a guy who likes me regardless of my weight for the person I am, not someone who has some preference towards big women and only likes me for that…

I'm in the exact same boat, 20 and a junior! I'll send you a friend request. (:

Losing weight is hard. Being overweight is hard. Choose your hard.

Same thing happens to me, I hate when it switches over after midnight! I still count until I go to bed as the same day, though.

Haha exactly! Definitely not trying to make anyone feel bad here. I just feel like sometimes these stereotypes can be so hilariously inaccurate, I thought some of us could bond over how idiotic they are.
-
Haha I'm definitely not saying any of these are going to be true even most of the time! And I too have met plenty of big people with terrible personalities!
-
Same! I figure I'll see how I feel when I get closer. I'm sure you get to a certain point where weight just doesn't come off anymore and your body gets to a "happy spot."

I'm 5'7" but my doctor said I shoot for around 170, though I'm secretly hoping for 155-160 haha.
-
Wow, you look absolutely amazing! I'm a size 22 now, can't wait to get down to a 12!

Mine was my grilled cheese sandwiches - I used to make them two at a time most days. I still make a version of a grilled cheese with ONE slice of cheese and ham/turkey, lettuce, onions, mushrooms, etc. and then a little bit of margarine and toasted. I have one and I'm full without as many calories and more nutritious…

Mine came for the SECOND time about a month ago. I had my lap band taken out about a year ago and that whole time I never once stepped on a scale - just ate and ate all the things I couldn't eat before in quantities that I never would have been able to have. We went to an amusement park in California over the summer for a…

I noticed mine was a little strange too! I've only been at this for about a month too but I'm down 11 pounds. I'm on the pill and supposed to only get it every four months. I wasn't supposed to get it for another two months but I'm came this month anyway, and heavy! I think it is normal, your hormones can get way messed up…

I'm 20 and i have about 150 pounds to lose, so I feel you! I'm definitely trying to take it day by day and take my time, too. I've done too many drastic diets where I cut out tons of calories overnight and I get sick of that way too fast and end up quitting! This time I'm focusing on taking small steps and making this a…

The only problem with having too much protein on a regular basis is that it can kind of back up your bowels if you know what I mean haha. Make sure you're keeping up with your fiber too, but don't increase that too much all at once either or you'll have the same problem!

I am a junior in college, and I can definitely feel your pain! I gained the freshman fifteen (and then some), and am now struggling to take it all off, though I was very overweight before even getting to freshman year. Still, I understand what you're going through. I feel like I am just now finally getting my head on…

Same with the fish like many people have said! I also can't stand tomatoes even though they're 'supposed' to be in almost every recipe I cook up.

Amazing responses everyone, thank you! I went to my class today and didn't feel out of place at all. There were a whole range of people in all sizes and ages, and while there was that one skinny girl who seemed to be able to lift more weight than everyone else, I just tried to let her inspire me instead of get me down. I'm…

Thanks so much for the suggestions everybody! I bought some almonds and popchips at the grocery store this time. Also tried the sugar snap pea recipe tonight, amazing!
-
Very true everybody! I just have to keep in mind that I am a real human being, and I don't live in a bubble where I can plan every meal and be expected to NEVER mess up. I'm going to be put in situations where I don't have amazing options, it's just about doing what you can to make it a lifestyle! I don't want this to…

I can definitely understand what you are going through! I Going off to college was very stressful for me too, and was when I put on the most weight. I also have over 100 lbs to lose and I am 20, so I feel like we can kind of understand each other! I'd be more than glad to lend some support.
