Somehow I never thought of weighing the spoon. Guess you learn something new every day. Weighing the entire jar somehow sounds funny to me, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. In my mind, I would always think I would somehow need to scoop the peanut butter off my spoon, onto a plate, onto the scale, and then…

I'm at 128-130 and want to get down to 125 too (and am 5'6). So hard with those last few pounds! And my dr is amazed at my numbers and always asks if I eat healthy (fact is, I love McDonalds but would be hungry in 10 minutes, so I gear toward more filling foods, salads with grilled chicken, etc, so that I'm not hungry and…

I don't consider them diet "breaks" but rather just life. But it seems to work out that 4 days a week I count and meet the lower calorie mark for weight loss (I have it set very low though, 1300) and then the other 3 days, I don't count (because -- life). I go out to eat, feast on dinner, have some snacks at night. It's…

[ignore the blank posts above - I'm not the best at this!] I have never looked into whether I have diastasis recti and no dr has mentioned it but could be possible (I'm MANY years post-partum - like over 8!) And I assume my fyll core is weak - I base it on the fact that for several years, I really couldn't even sit up from…

I think employers do not have an issue with a candidate calling (as long as you don't do it too often, just once or twice). Best of luck!

Question - let me know if anyone has ever done something low carb or keto for just a short time in order for muscles to "pop" or look more lean for a specific event. I want to try that, but only do it for the (really minimum) time necessary.

tx. I always wondered what my "real" fat % is (but not enough to do anything about it I guess!)
-
That's a legitimate complaint!!!!! Not fair

Thanks for the comments. I"m not trying to spot train to reduce fat anywhere. But trying to increase core strength generally.

Thank you for the information and comment. Very helpful. My cousin had some type of "experimental" surgery and she says she is now pain free and my dad is going to do it too, if he is approved (he's already had other surgeries) (I don't know much about it, but I hope it moves from expirmental to standard of care before I…

Here's the (one day early) log in. (prob just a low water weight day, so taking it and logging it!) Also- let me know if anyone has ever done something low carb or keto for just a short time in order for muscles to "pop" or look more lean for a specific event. So I haven't been really doing the keto, just trying to increase fat and watch calories. Main reason that I wanted to do it was so that my muscles would "pop" out more (ie, to look more 'lean") for an event in a couple months. For anyone in my situation, what is the amount of time that you comitted to doing a program like…

How are you calculating your body fat percentage each week?
-
Not typically something I would try, but if you have a recommendation, let me know and I'll ask my dr about it.

Tx for the info. Recent training history is primarily strength building group classes (using 20 lb weights for chest presses, shoulder biceps, squats, rows, etc, plus planks and push ups). So generally 40lbs would be the limit on what I'm doing currently and it's been enough to build muscle. At this point, I am not able to…

good point - haven't been cleared to do anything, but was just assuming that body weight would be less stress.
-
Guess I could have googled first. Seems like lots of options (which all look complicated frankly but will work on them!). Something called the "pistol" squat looks tough!
-
So true, I've had to decrease strength training for med issues so I expect that my "weight" will go down a bit quicker. But I'm worked so hard for that muscle, that I'll need to figure something else out.

Thanks for the info

Two eggs and cheese might fill you up just the same (higher fat) and not make you nauseous (and not really that many more calories).
-
I ate 1 time per day for about 6 months (mostly work stress related); I did lose weight so obviously was in a calorie deficit (eating huge fajita salad with pita almost every day). But beside that, I was rarely hungry AND I had a crazy amount of energy and needed so much less sleep. I haven't done all the research - but I…

These responses are so helpful. Thank you so much. So many things that I hadn't thought about.

I pretty much only do group classes. Instructor makes or breaks them. I do not like instructors who switch around moves too quickly or who do too many complicated dancy/ step moves. Also, I had an instructor who was apparently offended by my modifications (I do modify a lot, but in her particular class, I did in fact feel…

I've been trying to incorporate more fat into my life - which apparently is not that easy for me to do. There was one day where all I ate was super low carb tortillas and peanut butter (two for breakfast, two for lunch, two for dinner) - For no particular reason except that this is what I was craving that day. My (based…

Also, as other have said, I don't really see a substantial need for long cardio for what you're trying to accomplish (I do very little, only what little I get in interval strength training classes, because I don't like it and it hasn't hindered re-comp, as far as I know)
