  • I saw results in my upper body pretty quickly (4 weeks to 3 months). Honestly, for my core, up to a year to "see" results
  • For me, it's preferable to not work out while focusing on losing weight (otherwise I'll be too hungry)
  • My 2 cents. I started WW when my baby was 8 months (and breastfed way into toddlerhood). I went by the WW point system for breastfeeding moms and it worked and I was never hungry (you get extra points for BF). I remember calculating that the actual calories were about 1800 per day, am 5'6 and was about 155 at that time.
  • 2 kids, work full time in very stressful field. First, I don't cook. For me, one meal a day (or one meal plus a small snack worked best). Didn't worry about how healthy it was (but typicaly was pretty healthy beacause needed a salad and veggies to stay full). I would buy a salad and tyson frozen chicken. For the kids, I…
  • I try to focus on interval training (heavier weights, less cardio). But did see some weight creep up over the holidays (which stretched from Halloween to New Years) that can't be attributed to weight lifting. 1/1- 134 1/7 - 133.5 today 1/9 - 131.5 (water weight). Hoping to keep the trend of .5 - to 1 lb a week. GW # 1 -…
  • Dole Chopped Chipotle and Cheddar is awesome (420 for whole bag, add some grilled chicken and it's not much more); I think most of the calories are in the dressing and it is AWESOME
  • At 1200 per day, I find it easier to eat only one large meal a day (or one large meal around 2 pm and then a very small dinner). Breaking it up into several meals makes me hungry - because the calories of each meal is so small. I also use high protein to keep me full, because again, 1200 really isn't that much at all! My…
  • Good luck. I am about the same height (5'6), and 133, and it's really hard to just lose 5-10 lbs at this weight. Why the 119 goal? Seems really low for this height but I do lift weights. (And I'm old!)
  • Keeping this Monday check-in is really helpful because shows I'm down just a tad bit (b/c over the week I was down to 130.5 and now back up). I've been doing more low carb than keto - and Sat/Sunday- did not count cals and ate out. I would like to incorporate more fat. Bought some guac and cheese. Will buy some individual…
  • I started keto yesterday, after a holiday "break" in eating and up some lbs. As an aside, so hard to get in the fat for me and am focusing on some lower carb veggies but even the low carb ones seem to have more carbs than I would have though. SW: 135 Short term GW - 130 by Feb 1 GW: 126 - by March 31 01/01 - 135 01/02 -…
  • Haven't read the other replies, but here is my experience. I started counting calories when my little one was 9 months - kept it at 1800-2000, no decrease in supply and weight fell off. At 2.5 months - I would not even consider thinking about weight--just for sanity! I needed those M&Ms to keep my up at night!
  • Of course, you don't need exercise to lose weight. You can't "out-exercise" a bad diet. I lost 20 lbs by eating at a calorie deficit over a 2-3 month period (150 to 130, and I'm 5'6). Now I will tell me that it is much easier (for me) to maintain the weight loss by exercising (but I only do weights, not cardio). That's my…
  • Update, took off a week from exercising and now finally getting back into OMAD
  • Hmm, I would think that chicken broth is fine, but I wouldn't want all the salt.
  • Thanks for all of the input. I'm going out to eat tonight and tomorrow, so clearly will wait until evening to eat - don't have any coconut oil or eggs on me today, but will get this all a try next week starting Monday and see if I can't get back to my "sweet" spot. At this point I am trying to maintain the weight (while…
  • Thanks for the options. No I don't have to eat in the evening, but I find if I eat "too early" in the day, that I'm too hungry to make it through the rest of the day. My meals are not huge if eaten in the day (so I don't slip into a food coma) which is why I prefer the evening. But working out has made me all that much…
  • What I decided to do was to eat a large / heavy protein meal last night, to try to "switch up" my eating patterns so that I'm not hungry during the day and can wait until evening. As an aside, I'm not clear on what you are saying about coconut oil? Are you eating it? I'm not sure that I'm up to that, but could eat some…
  • I should have pulled this up earlier. Only made it until 10:30 today and had my "meal". Will have to try to sort this out.
  • I generally eat around 2 pm, and work out first thing in the morning. I can't seem to push back the meal any longer -- maybe I'll try some coconut oil. Lately I've been eating a 300 cal meal around 10am, b/c I'm so hungry and then my second meal is the big one. But had more energy when I was just eating one meal.
  • I feel into OMAD inadvertently (busy at work) and quickly lost 20 lbs (no exercise). I'm now down to / close to my goal weight (125) and have started working out for last 6 weeks. Now I am hungry all the time and finding it difficult to stick which OMAD, which I love because it's so easy to do and keeps me alert all day.…
  • I only had 20 lbs I wanted to lose and I lost it very quickly on OMAD and it was crazy easy (2 months or so). Probably too fast but it worked and I rarely, if ever, was hungry.
  • FYI, I had about 15 lbs I've been wanting to lose for a bit, and stumbled into this way of eating, and in 3 weeks, already lost 10, no exercise
  • I know this is the hunger pain thread, but I just finished 2 weeks. I am just amazed at how quickly the weight falls off with this eating one time a day. Literally 10 lbs in two weeks. I generally snack all day long, so that's all out. This is fun, but how long is this diet really sustainable? I plan on doing it through…
  • I find it easier to just eat between lunch and 2 pm or so, and then deal with hunger in the evening Too hard to work on an empty stomach
  • I started eating one time a day by default (stress and work) and decided to keep at it. (Now at about 11 days). I was 145 I think to start and this morning, 136. I'm 5"6, so my overall goal was really only 10 lbs or so. I'm thinking that most of this is probably water weight. Really not possible to eat too much salt within…
  • I did WW when my son was 8 months old, you add "points" for BF. In total, I was eating approx. 1800-1900 per day and the weight literally fell off. (My 8 month old still nursed A LOT). 1200 I would think is too low and I would have been miserable. I would start at 1800 or so, see if you are losing weight after a few weeks…
  • Great ideas. Unfortunately, I followed none of them and polished off a bag of Doritos and then some with the fam!
  • Easiest weight I ever lost was doing WW while BF. At 5'6, with the points I was allotted that I could eat 1800-1900 per day. Those last 20 baby pounds fell off plus more. And I was not really exercising at that time. But I did have a super champ of a breastfeeder, hours and hours a day. That may have had something to do…
  • I eat a bit more carbs, but I hate fish and I don't like to cook. I need things that are "pre-portioned" for ease. For fat, I buy from costco the big pack of single-serve guacamole (sp?). I put it on my chicken (or make a chicken sandwich with very low cal, high fiber bread and spread it on the bread). Costco has pre-made,…
