"Recomp" success!
I did not actively set out to "recomp", but about 15 months ago started resistance training classes 4 times a week or so, using pretty heavy weights (For me, 20 lb free weights). Today, I went shopping and found out that I went down a size, but weight is up 3 lbs from last year! Not sure how I did not notice that I was…

Ode to peanut butter
I am loving it lately (great on my 50 cal tortillas); fills me up and I crave it something fierce for some reason lately! But just so hard to measure........ (And I can't see myself paying for the single serving cups). Such is life.....

Stomach/core exercises that don't make your stomach stick out
I'm at a reasonable weight (for me), 130-132, 5'6 and pretty good amount of muscle. But since kids (c-sections) I've always had a weak core and I'm starting to work on those muscles. Been doing planks (on forearms, hands and med balls), and some floor ab exercises (whatever they do in classses). Not looking for a flat…

Maintaining or building muscle without weights?
I've worked really hard for my muscles - but am going to stop using weights for the time being until cleared by a med professional. In the meantime, any stories of maintaining or building muscle using body weight? (push ups, planks?). Any other ideas? I do like squats but how do you make them "hard" (to maintain and build…

Osteoarthritis in neck/spine
I thought I tweaked my muscles working out, turns out I won the genetic lottery and have the beginnings of osteoarthritis in neck/spine like many others in my family. (I'm 44). Of course I'll follow up with a dr to find out what, if any restrictions I should have for exercising, but in the meantime, wanted to see if anyone…

10 minute easy to do core exercises
Starting back out and hoping to re-gain some muscle. Does anyone know of a pretty simple quick series of moves that can be done within 10-15 minutes at home, without equipment (thinking something easy that I can do immediately after rolling out of bed).

Roll out of bed exercises? (for core)
Starting back out to re-gain some muscle after the kid years. Does anyone know of a pretty simple quick series of exercises that can be done within 10-15 minutes at home, without equipment (thinking something easy that I can do immediately after rolling out of bed). Focused on core? (or direct me to a link?) (Posting here,…

Will I ever make it through the weekend?
Been doing this for about a month - on point during the week, all goes to heck over the weekend, so effectively, I'm just maintaining. Just venting but if anyone has suggestions (this is really all mental) let me know!

Healty diet really screws up my digestive system (not in a good way)
So I want to lose 10 lbs, had a solid two week start - lost five (good part of that water I'm sure); then my digestive system just stopped - too much "health" food, lot of greens, which have fiber, but not in the amount / type that I'm used to. My digestive system can be considered "sluggish" on a good day, so the fewer…

Today's Goal - Less Salt
I know salt is not evil - but I want to see the scale budge down to a specific number and need to eliminate some of the water weight to do that. Problem is - I eat frozen meals and ketchup (a lot) daily. Any one else on a mission to reduce sodium intake? Probably should buy some low sodium ketchup (does such a thing…

Experiences with Plantar Fasciitis from working out?
So this may be just my old age (humor me!); but I have not worked out in quite a while and this week started doing Ripped in 30, which has, relatively speaking, little high impact cardio (I don't do high impact cardio b/c of pressure on my leg veins). But now - my heels are hurting quite a bit, especially after waking up…

An estimate for a restaurant style lamb gyro? (with pita break, tomatoes and sauce?)
I know it's impossible to nail this one down exactly, but anyone ever estimate the approx. cals for a restaurant (think coney island/diner) style lamb gyro with pita bread, tomatoes and sauce (it's like a greek yogurt sauce). From Mr. Google, I'm thinking around 600-750. Any thoughts?

Wow, that added up quickly - 842 cal breakfast
But it was good! Blame it on the jiffy muffins the kids made!

Large Red Seeded Grapes
I don't have my food scale with me, so was looking up the calories for 50 large seeded red grapes (ie, the size you get at Costco). Calories vary so differently on different entries on MFP (from 150 to 900). Anyone ever do any research to confirm the calories for these types of grapes? TIA

INSPIRATION--Would like to hear 1500 cal per day weight loss stories-from those close to weight goal
For inspiration - would like to hear stories of those who were able to lose eating 1500 cals per day (no exercise, or minimal exercise-- I do get some but not enough to "count" it in my calorie count or eat back any). MFP of course says to eat 1200 which is not doable (short term or long term for me!) Stats - female 5.6 -…

I'm in
I have two kiddos under age 6 and work FT - I don't really have the time for "formal" exercise (I knwo, everyone says that) but when I"m home, I'm playing / interacting with the kids. I have the old trademill getting dust in the basement. I'm going to try this week to run/walk for 10 mins while the kids hang out downstairs…

2600 cal for dinner/snack
Just venting. yep, pizza, breadsticks, wine, oreos, the whole thing last night. hoping to get back on track today and stick with it for 7 days solid, which would be a first for me. am on a roller coaster to lose 10 lbs, which may not seem like much to some, but I don't want to buy new clothes and is hard for me.

Last the 10lbs can be the most difficult!

Skinny Pop Popcorn
Question- The bag says that 1 serving is about 4 cups (and 28 grams). But I weighed the popcorn and just over 2 cups = about 28 grams? It was early in the morning, but has anyone else seen this variance for this product?
