First off lose the word diet. That is something done for a short time and forgotten. You need to wrap your mind around a life style change so you stay fit and healthy. Other wise you could fall off the wagon. Been there done that.

I wiegh myself once a week in the morning. My goal is to lose 2 pounds a week. Why not wait the week to see your 2 pounds go away. Water weight may discourage you if you don't weigh in same time of day, and never after a workout.

That would be me!!! I have always been the big guy. Been a firefighter for 20 years, and while I am big I hide my weight very well. Guess it help being 6'5". No one ever believed that I was at 300 pounds. Those days are behind me can't wait to see what they say when I show up for an event when I get to my dream weight.

Just remember take things one at a time. If you try to change everything at once it might be over welming. So stick with it and you will see relsults.

The marathon runners it is not from to much water. It is from hyponatremia which causes a shift in soduim. As they drink more water it causes the shift to get worse. It is not the fact that they are drinking to much water, rather a shift in thier sodium.

I loved being at the YMCA I was with. I would still be there if it wasn't an hour away. I would go back in a heart beat.

Becky your in luck. I just happen to be trained to rescue (I am a specialized rescue tech) people that are in wells and can't get out. That being said I can't do the work for you but I can try to help motivate you on your journey. Add me if you would like.

Cool use to live a little bit outside of Austin. Well I have also lived there in crude housing during all of those pesky hurricanes you get down there.

There could be alot of things causing this. The first thing that comes to mind is not eatting enough calories. I agree with Snitch look around at some of the more successful folks here.
