Oh and if ice cream is your vice - check out Enlightened Ice Cream (or Halo Top). Both hit the spot and help! Low on the calorie scale. :)

You have to cut back gradually or it feels like a punishment - deprivation. Start with replacing high calorie things with lower. For example, instead of Ranch dressing at 100 calories per serving, go Bolthouse Farms Ranch made from Greek Yogurt at 35 calories per serving. My trick for McDonalds --- if the craving hits, get…

I either have the smaller portion to get it out of my system, or I look for ways to have something similar that is healthier. For example, if I want ice cream, I do the frozen banana version. (Frozen bananas, Truvia or agave, cocoa powder, almond milk, and some peanut butter in the Vitamix - the consistency is just like…

I'm glad he mentions ketosis and how it can be unhealthy. Everything in moderation - eat whole not processed - get moving! Thanks for the link!

Just the inspiration I needed today - thank you for sharing your story! What target rate do you try to get your heart at with your heart monitor?

Just a few squares of high quality dark chocolate usually gets me over the chocoholic hump. :) Trader Joe's has a few very good dark chocolate options. Dark chocolate has some health benefits as well.

French bread, tortilla chips and cookies! :) I'm a carb-o-holic.

Yeah, I'd say you're at the point where it's every woman/man for himself. Some nights I cook one thing for dinner while my fiance cooks another.

I forgot - you can also try something like the Nike Fuel Band. I just ordered one and I have two co-workers who have found great success with it.

I actually had to go into the customize settings and drop my carbs. That seemed to help me get going the last time I did MFP. (I lost 25 lbs and then fell off the wagon and gained back 20 - now I'm back on the train for 2013). You might also want to talk to a trainer just to make sure you're getting a high enough burn…
-
I lost 25 lbs using MFP in 2011, but gained it back in 2012. So yes! Going to get back on the wagon for 2013. :)

I'm not sure what fantasy gym he thinks it is, but the gym I go to is not full of "hotties". Maybe he should reframe how he sees the gym - he does realize that most people are out of shape and trying to get in shape there, right? LOL!

We tried it. Very few things were good and it was expensive. I wouldn't recommend it. Cooking for yourself with fresh ingredients is so much better!!

Iced tea - lots of flavored ones you can brew yourself.

They're awful and full of sodium. I've had 2 friends end up with high blood pressure and were told to stop eating them by their doctor. It helped. We just cook our own meals and then portion them out into containers for the week. Better for you and better tasting!

Drink more water during the day and it helps with hunger. Fresh produce, whole wheat pasta, brown rice, bags of chicken breasts are less expensive than processed foods. I also shop generic brands and at Trader Joe's for great deals. Try farmer's markets too. Very inexpensive to buy local. Also try using Truvia to kill…

People are so ridiculous. Celebrate the fact you're a happy healthy person and she just a raving b*tch. Besides, who died and made her the queen of step aerobics?
-
Yes, I have both the big one with the heat function and the smaller spot bot. They are both great! Worth the money. :)

The best teas are from Revolution tea. White Pear tea and Ginger Peach are my favorite along with their regular green tea. I also just got a new acai berry and a pomagranite one I haven't tried yet from them. I order it online but some people have it in stores in their area.

I don't know how medicines interact with the program, but I had a hard time moving until I changed my carb ratio. The default must have been too high for my body. I dropped it 10-20% and it helped. 1200 is the minimum to keep your metabolism going, I also wonder if that's too low. Switch to 1lb per week so you gain a few…

Iced tea! I brew my own in tons of flavors.

Not a fan of VWZ. Gives me a stomach ahce. Do you like iced tea? It's so cheap and easy to brew and comes in tons of flavors! Use Truvia as a sweetner if you like sweet tea.

Definitely the calories because if you don't get those in range, your excercise will show little result. However, doing some simple walking will help boost your mood. It's not expensive to eat healthy. I shop at Wal-Mart and my fiance has lost 40 pounds and I'm down 18. We also shop at Trader Joe's. Great prices!

I hear you - some days you're just hungry. Had one of those myself. Back on the wagon tomorrow.
-
Completely doable! I'm on the drop 60 too. I lost around 8 pounds prior to MFP and 17 since coming on here. I've been super busy and thanks to MFP I've been able to maintain. Getting back on the workouts so I expect to keep moving down the scale now. Good luck and enjoy the journey. :)

You don't have to buy special food. It's not that expensive to eat well. I buy groceries at Wal-Mart. Fresh vegetables, black beans in the can, frozen vegetables, whole wheat pastas, ground turkey, bags of chicken breasts. The most expensive thing I splurge on is egg whites because I'm too busy to separate real eggs each…

You can do it! One day at a time - small steps on a journey that lasts a lifetime. You'll love how good you feel eating great, moving and giving your body water. Best wishes and keep looking ahead! Today is the day your life changes forever and you're giving yourself a great gift. Blessings!

That's only 16 weeks - MFP sets you up to lose about a pound a week, so you'd be trying to almost triple that. They may do that kind of thing on The Biggest Loser, but that's not practical or safe without the kind of supervision they get on that show. Not to mention it's not realistic and doesn't help you change your…

Fantastic! Congrats - keep up the good work.
