30 pushups in a row feels like a breeze now. Less than two years ago 15 was a struggle. Now when I push myself i can do 34-35 and if I drink a lot of coffee I have gotten up to 40! Lol I know Coffee isn't a health food, but hey I'm not complaining about the results.

Been trying to eat right, and do more lifting/strength training. Unfortunately, while doing squats a couple months ago, I felt a sharp pain in my right knee, and I had to stop doing lower body exercises for a while, which sucks because those are your biggest muscle groups of course. Working my way back on that end, while…

I can do 35 consecutive pushups. For my age that puts me above average. A couple years ago I could barely do 15. And yet I weigh more than I did then.
-
Two weeks of slacking caught up with me. Could only do 25 today! :-(
-
Two months ago I ran a mile in 10:30, and today I finished in under 9:00! My 5K time has gone down a little, too, but this was most obvious.

I did 40 pushups in a row, no stopping, chin to ground yesterday!

Maybe I'm in the wrong section. Just looking for encouragement. I mean, the pictures are different, they show change (I hope!) I've been following a routine, and I just want to check in with the community. From last summer until around the holidays I'd been strength training and trying to bulk. Now I'm trying to cut, but I…

Been working on self-esteem in addition to fitness. I try not to weigh myself or focus on losing weight at all, just on becoming more fit. Compare June 2016: to January 2017:
-
Thanks. I don't have a concrete goal in terms of how I look or weigh. Just want to look better. But more importantly, I want to be faster and stronger.
-
I have! I lost a lot of weight through cardio and dieting. Then I started strength training with a PT. She had me doing a bunch of exercises I'd never heard of, and I noticed a lot of good changes, but some extra fat, too.
-
But some of that 6 pounds over six months could be muscle right?
-
Thanks. I had my numbers wrong. I've only gained about 6 pounds since starting this weight training. So according to the above that could very well be muscle. Gonna do a cut now anyway

Finally over my cold and started working out again. Here are better angles of my fat. :-( I put on an old shirt for work and it's a light color so my gut stuck out more obviously than usual and I feel like ppl had to have noticed. It's especially hard because over summer when I lost weight ppl complimented me on my muscles…

It's been a tough three weeks with work etc and I've falling off the wagon. This belly is embarrassing!
-
I feel like my arms are getting good and defined, and my legs, too, but the belly stil looks like mush!

Virtually same weight, but clothes fit better. I haven't counted calories, but instead focused on eating more protein and vegetables and fruit. Cut out beer! If I have a drink I have some gin and lime, or white wine. Now -Image Removed By Moderator- May 2016 -Image Removed By Moderator-

OMG r those the slight beginnings of abs??? :)
-
New pic same weight as before.
-
Weight hasn't changed. But I feel like I have more definition. Is it possible to lose fat and get more muscle?
-
Awesome then I still will that's all I wanted to do it for: a fun challenge. Will report back if I get pulled or not!!Thanks!
-
In a word: nope. I think I could do 15-16mph for a while but not 20. I do have a drop handled road bike. Schwinn from the 80s.
-
Yup cat 5! That's so harsh about getting pulled lol. I'm worried about speed not ability. Like I'm sure I CAN do it. I want to do it well. Gotcha on the squats. Have been doing those and will continue. Thanks!

I think it's cuz the park's loop is a strange number 3.35 miles. So 17 miles is like 5 times around I guess. Well close anyway.
-
Thanks! It's August 13

Well To be brutally honest: the answer is I have issues with my body and so a chart saying that I am obese gives me anxiety. :-/
-
The methodology was a machine where I stand on a sensor platform while also holding onto these handles. So all electronic.
-
Ok thank you. But my question remains: am I obese? Or could my BF reading have been wrong?
-
No, I realize that. I have 26% body fat according to the test this morning, and according to this, I am in the 'obese' category for men. http://www.acefitness.org/acefit/healthy-living-article/60/112/what-are-the-guidelines-for-percentage-of-body-fat

There have been multiple times. Once I was backstage and talking to a couple actresses in this play I was in. I described myself as 'athletic', because I thought that meant just strong. They looked me up and down and said, "Um, more like husky". Then I had hernia surgery and as I was healing realizing how fat my belly…
