OP, See in your diary, you logged burning 1000 calories for 45 minutes on an elliptical machine. That sounds high to me. Gotta be careful using calories burned on this website. I usually google an exercise and check several sources, then use the lowest, or even less, just to be safe.

LOLZ!!!

I agree, For liquids, I measure out the amount in cups, then weigh it and keep track that way. 1/2 a cup of 2% milk = 117g.

1oz. = 28g.

Picking up on my previous post, it seems to me there are only 2 reasons to post on the forums (3 if you want to count trolling. I choose not to): 1.You are looking for some answers/help from others. 2. You are looking to provide answers/help to others. Given this, my question to the OP is, why are you posting in the weight…

Thank you for the clarification. Great info in both these posts. Does not change my original point though, that the joke is on the people who are poking fun at Sm_4ever17, when in fact she is most probably correct. And just for the record, she never said there was chicken fat in her urine, she said "...something white in…

OP, Not sure why people discussing methods/strategies that have worked for them in losing or gaining weight bothers you. While it's true, the only way to lose weight is to eat at a deficit, there are many many ways, that help different people TO eat at a deficit. Same goes for eating at a surplus to gain. So, the rest of…

Like a lot of others, this is my new favorite thread. But not for the same reasons. My reason is because it proves my theory that "the stupidest people in the world are the ones who think everyone else is stupid. Let me explain. There are 10 pages (and counting!!) in this thread and roughly 2/3rds are ragging on this post:…

Yes. Once I understood losing weight is all about calories in v. calories out, and started keeping track, it became very simple.

I like you!!!:flowerforyou:

Good info. Thanks for posting!

Ahhhh... So sorry I asked.:ohwell:

Very Helpful. Thanks!!! :flowerforyou:

I'm not getting it either and gotta tell ya, it ain't funny if you DON'T tell either.

If you don't mind, could you share the mistakes you made?

First thing is, you have to log it. There is no shame in "going off the reservation" once in a while. We all do it. The shame is in not holding yourself accountable by logging it. This accomplishes 2 things: 1. Allows you to see in black and white what that choice did to all your efforts. It also let's you compare that to…

Popped Crisps, Pop Chips, Baked Potato chips and air popped popcorn with parkay spray fake butter crap (tastes pretty good actually). I really missed chips when I first started, and ate these a lot. But as I go along, even these lower cal options don't seem worth it and I find myself eating them less and less.

I have lost 70 lbs., 60 of them without even really exercising much at all. Weight loss is much more predicated on eating less calories than you burn. Not to say exercise isn't important, and isn't helpful, but in my opinion, it is much easier to eat 100 less calories than it is to burn 100 extra. Bottom line, yes, you can…

In to follow. Interested in peoples opinions.

I believe MFP will adjust every 10 lbs., but prompts you to accept the changes.
-
Based on your comments, I would say you need to work at it more, not less.
-
No reason I can think of. Eat it!
-
I did. Eating clean(er) is probably better for your health, but for JUST losing weight, calories in v. calories out is all that matters.
-
Quite a transformation. You look great. Congrats!

The difference is not just the oil you cook it in (and yes, either way you should log that separately). When you pan fry a steak, all/most of the fat remains in the steak, while if you broil or grill, the fat drips out. That's where the difference comes in.

I keep hearing this, and I understand extremely muscular people will get labeled as overweight due to high body weight for their height, and some body type/"big boned" individuals will be mislabeled But why exactly is this not a good measure for the vast majority of people? It seems logical that having a measurement that…
