Hi. Welcome to the group. I hadn't lifted in years, and am in week 6. I have lost about 60 lbs., and am basically at my goal weight. I still have a gut that I want to get rid of. Not sure I see the dramatic changes that Mehdi talks about, but I definitely can tell I am making progress. I have increased my calories and just…

Home. More convenient.

No. You didn't gain fat or muscle, you probably retained water from the pizza (although when I drink, I usually lose weight the next day due to dehydration. You probably offset this with the pizza and by re-hydrating). As long as you get back to proper diet and excercise, your body will get back to your "real" weight in a…

Sounds like a pretty conclusive test you did. You may want to try switching back to flouridated water from time to time and see if the problem continues to return. I was told by a Dr. that when the body is first introduced to a substance, it determines how to deal with it, and if it doesn't know how, it creates an allergic…

I have no idea, but I log about 1/2 to 3/4 just to be safe.

Pretty impressive. I hope I am ABLE to lift at that age, although, not sure I will WANT to. lol

Yeah. I was thinking the same thing. I guess in reality, they always were, but it just seemed like he was providing good information until the pitch starts and the "spots opened up" for joining. Meh, I don't blame him for trying, he provides a good service and, "a guys gotta eat".

What app are you using, and do you know if there is one for Android? I am using "Strong Log" and it's OK. Pretty basic and it doesn't sync up with an on line source. Anybody have any suggestions?

I do this too. I use Boston/Bib lettuce when I really want to cut down on calories.

I am in Massachusets and we have a store called Market Basket. They have a store brand, "Lite" oatmeal bread that is 35 calories per slice. They also have wheat and white I believe. Lowest I've found, and tastes good too.

^^^This. Exactly.

LOL... Literally. Ban the shield!!!!

Kashi Go Lean Crunch w/ some dried fruit and skim milk. Usually only in the AM, but would eat any time if the urge arose.

Semantics. One persons "cheat day" is another persons... day. Same concept.

Thanks!! Watching vids now.

Well. I'm back. No need to call 911. Wasn't too bad. Warmed up doing weightless squats. The first weighted (50 Lbs.) set was a little painful, but once I got through it, it got better. Noticed I was going up on my toes a bit (for balance more than anything). Does anyone know if that is proper form, or should I try to stay…

I am pretty sure I will win a "soreness competition". lol. I have never felt anything like it. I am just now recovered enough to try and do some squats again. Heading down now. If no one hears from me in the next 6 hours, you might want to call 911.

You are lucky. My thighs are still sore. Hoping to gertback to squats tomorrow, I've done all the upper body stuff without a problem, but those squats killed me! Good luck to you. Love your ticker pic, and Swetty's...errr Betty's logo. "See" ya around... -Chuck

Thanks......... Look forward to "seeing" you around.

I read somewhere to use the following formula: Your weight x # of minuutes (including breaks) x intensity level (where Intensity Levels is as follows: A bodybuilding level of effort is vigorous and burns 0.055 calories per pound per minute. Circuit training with weights burns 0.042 calories per pound per minute. Strength…

If you log everything first, come up with the calorie and macro amounts you want, and only put that much on your plate, it really wouldn't matter how fast you eat it, as long as you stopped eating at that amount. As for your question, I read somewhere to use your fork in your non-dominant hand. Might want to try that.…

Eat it. May want to have a little each day so you don't crave/obsess over it and have 6 in a sitting, but either way, enjoy!

Huh????? Sorry, couldn't resist.

Tofu. No thanks!

If your TDEE as input/calculated by MFP exactly correct and... If the amount of calories you consumed was exactly correct and... If your metabolism is exacly as efficient as the MFP calculator uses and If you consumed and burned exactly the same amounts for 5 weeks, then... That is exactly what you would weigh. That is too…

You answered your own question^^^. When it starts hurting busisness, or they realize it can get them more business, they'll put it on there.

Can tell you're kinda new around here. I can save you a few keystrokes on any future posts. Leave this ^^^ part out. Believe me, they WILL correct you anyway.

Take in fewer calories than you burn off...period. Stop thinking.

Sounds like you didn't discuss any of this with your doctor. I would suggest you tell this ^^^ to your doctor and see what she has to say. You might be pleasantly surprised.
