  • I really love wine at night too and I consider myself lucky that it's wine I crave and not beer or chips or something like that with more calories. I mean, 125 calories a glass is really about as low as you can get for a snack. So that's what I do - I would normally allot about 300 calories a day for snacks but on nights…
  • I'm between 5'10'' and 5'11''. At my heaviest I was over 200, started with MFP when I was around 190 and it took me about 9 months to get down to 145. I do consider myself lucky to be tall, I feel as though I can fluctuate a bit more than shorter people without it being as noticeable. When I looked for before pictures I…
  • I've been maintaining for about 2 years now and I have never posted a success story! Started around 200, finished around 145. I'm a bit taller than 5'10''.
  • Sorry, this is from forever ago! And you may have already responded but I didn't want to go digging through the forum, but how did you make these chickpea burgers? Is it a fried chickpea flour like a pakora or canned chickpeas smashed up? It looks delicious and with feta and spinach and lemon dill yogurt..oh yea, mouth…
  • Day 1: Hiked up a mountain, approx. 196m elevation, 1 hour round trip.

  • Totally respect your choice to choose natural (at least first) but don't be mistaken that "natural won't do damage," whether you're talking about ingested medicines or creams or other methods. It's a dangerous mindset to be in. It's entirely possible to have terrible reactions and overdoes to natural products. Always do…
  • - Shrimp and fish! Which is good news since they're both so healthy and low cal and versatile. - Goat cheese (especially in a sweet flavour like blueberry or cranberry and cinnamon). Such a treat on a 7 grain kashi cracker. - Cauliflower :) I still dislike it raw but enjoy it roasted with curry spices with almost every…
  • I agree with every single one of these except for kale (I love salty, melt-in-your-mouth kale chips). Fake chocolate is the absolute biggest disappointment and waste of calories, as is frozen pizza. I don't think I've ever had a good frozen pizza. But isn't diet soda pop calorie free? So it can't really be a waste of…
  • But to answer the question, almost anything consumed in liquid form. Juice, alcohol, specialty sugary lattes/coffee beverages. I'd always rather eat my calories. The only exceptions I can think of are smoothies (filling, nutritious and not necessarily high cal) and white chocolate mochas from Starbucks (I wouldn't care if…
  • I know what you're saying here but my lord I can't imagine indian ever being a waste of calories, even if it was 3000 in a plate :) Indian food (at a restaurant, I make my own all the time and control the nutrition, the restaurant stuff is much fattier) is what I eat when I really want to treat myself (like once every few…
  • As the others said, try and go slow, it'll be easier and more likely to last. If you don't burn out, you'll be able to stick with it. That said, even with my weight loss goal set to 1 lb a week, my recommended intake is still as low as 1450. I didn't want to go as slow as .5lb a week so I stuck with the low number, made…
  • While we're on the topic of losing cup sizes, if anyone finds a way to sew padded bras (or, even better, very padded bras) to make the cups smaller, feel free to message me directly :) I've found a few methods online but they're all for unpadded bras.
  • Ahhhh you are so so so right. All my favourite Victoria's Secret bras are unwearable now. I'm still hoping to stumble upon some blog post about how to make them smaller using a sewing machine.... I doubt it.... I went from a 36D (I've worn a 38DD but that brand was wacky - we used to sell them at our store and girls who…
  • I've always thought that being honest is the most important part of weight loss. Without it, sometimes people don't even realize they need to lose weight or how much. I struggled with being honest until I realized I was only hurting my own efforts. And now when I see people posting topics about how they're eating 1200…
  • You look amazing. Great job on your success! My goal weight is 145 which is where you are now - only about 8lbs off from where I am now! How tall are you? I hope I look that good too hahaha
  • You don't need to defend yourself. Not everyone needs to eat house salads with dressing on the side everyday to know they're being healthy. Your pictures all look delicious! My brother was in Japan recently and brought back so many weird flavours of kitkat. They were all really good, actually.
  • If I could only bump one more thing for my whole life I'd still bump this.
  • chickpeas are canned in salt/water mixture. If you drain them and rinse them you'll be getting rid of a lot although it'll be hard to tell exactly how much. Start with dried chickpeas and soak them or use chicken instead.
  • Yes, I wanted to add as well that I log my chicken as its cooked oz weight BUT I add any calories that would come from frying or baking or whatever. I usually bake my chicken with a teaspoon or so of olive oil and of course I add those calories.
  • I'm definitely going to say that since your chicken breasts are so darn huge, they've been plumped up with injected salt water. They're probably losing a lot of water through cooking. I don't buy those ones 'cause it seems weird and unhealthy and if they're making me pay by weight, I wanna pay for meat and not for water.…
  • I have to disagree with this part of your advice, though the rest is great. Some people (myself included) have to eat at a pretty high deficit in order to lose (when you only have 10 or so pounds left to lose). I net 1320 calories a day and if I was under eating it could be dangerous! I have to make sure I eat every…
  • 16 oz chicken breasts? That is a HUGE chicken breast. Is it some sort of mutant chicken? My chicken breasts are, on average, 4-8 oz and 8 is a very large one. Simple answer: get a food scale. Don't rely on eyeing and comparing sizes and then using packaged calorie counts. They're often inaccurate and it's just not gonna…
  • Saw a pin on pinterest the other day with a long list of "foods that burn more calories during digestion than they contain, therefore you can eat as much of them as you want!" The list included celery (of course) and apples and blueberries, pomegranate, etc. There was a long argument in the comments with one girl basically…
  • I use the recipe builder and then once I'm done making the recipe, I move it from the pot into storage in the fridge but in the process, measure it out in one (or two, depending on how big you want a serving to be) cup portions. I don't store it in portions because I don't have enough tupperware but once I know how many…
  • There's a diet that bans broccoli? Why in the world?
