I do love it, I often use it rather than search my account for things I have already used, because it's faster. However, it does often come up with a similar product, and occasionally a completely different one. Over the weekend my tesco pizza scanned as a pizza express one with fewer calories, and my glass of Blossom Hill…

I'm not sure you get mini bags of pretzels here, and I have no idea what a teddy graham is, but the others are a maybe.

Oooo, I could just buy bounty bars! I only eat those, well, if I'm honest I eat them when I've run out of any other chocolate. But still, they would be harder to resist.

I'm 42, divorced, been yoyoing for, oh, about 22 years now - time to get a grip eh? Feel free to add!

Also, by the way, I will be carving my lantern out of a turnip, which is damn hard work, and should be listed as exercise!!!

I try to eat back some of them, not all because I do think MFP over-estimates. I never eat them back in advance (if you see what I mean), in case I change my mind and don't exercise, but as I exercise in the evening, I often find I don't have time to eat them afterwards. So in theory, yes, I try to eat back about half, in…

I also wanted a dragon tattoo on my butt but was scared I would end up with a very short, wide dragon! (Also I'm a scaredy-cat!). Great plan, I hope your design will be something appropriate, like a goddess or a symbol for strength or something?

It is a while since she saw you, she probably has a mental picture of how she remembers you looking at some point and doesn't remember that you were bigger last time. My weight has yoyoed so much over the last few years, I don't think people realise I have lost weight because I'm still bigger than I was maybe two years…

I love haggis. Veggie these days but I did like the meat variety before I went veggie. With neeps and tatties obviously. Also potato scones and irn bru.

And of course, the perennial "But what do you eat at Christmas?????" I've had almost 30 years of that one!
-
Don't keep whipping your phone out to check the cals though - my parents came to stay for the weekend recently, so we ate out a lot and had takeaways, I thought I was doing the sensible thing by having what they were having but just working out how much I could reasonably have, but I think it really got on my Dad's…

The colleagues I have trouble with are the ones who bring in biscuits and cakes and chocolate from home into the office so they aren't tempted to eat them themselves, thereby tempting me to eat them instead! Or decide that we all need cheered up so go and buy loads of cakes, and then don't eat any themselves. I know that…

When my husband left me, I took to drinking a glass or two of wine every evening. My weight has yoyoed so much over the years I actually can't remember now if I lost or gained at that time. I know I emotionally ate several times last year when my then boyfriend, the first really since the break-up, started jerking me…

Woop!!! Well done momofJandA!!! I'll be looking out for the new challenge.

No, oddly, I did think that might happen. I was at 1200 and I changed my settings a couple of days ago to lose 1 lb a week instead of 1 1/2, so it upped me to 1250, which is frankly not worth it. Then when I changed the setting again to take off my exercise, it dropped me to 1240. But it gives me something ridiculous for…
-
Hm, I changed my setting to sedentary with no exercise (planning to eat back the calories from the exercise) and it whacked a whole 10 calories per day off me! So it was giving me 10 extra calories because I said I exercise 3 times a week. I do more than 70 calories a week just walking to the photocopier!
-
So, if I said I have a sedentary lifestyle and exercise 3 times a week, I shouldn't eat back the calories from the exercise? It couldn't give me any fewer calories if i didn't count the exercise though.

30/9/12 SW 179 lbs 7/10/12 Still 179 lbs 14/10/12 177 lbs 21/10/12 175 lbs I was originally aiming for 6 lbs loss, I now think that was over ambitious but that's 4 lbs off in 4 weeks, which I think is pretty good. Don't have any plans yet though, so haven't bought the sexy-snow-white costume. I'll check in again on the…

We use that in Scotland too, there was a TV series called that on Scottish TV. By the way, a lot of episodes of a TV program is a series, not a season!

Baby steps - don't try to change all your habits in one go. Choose one and work on that until you come up with something that works for you. Are there any vegetables you do like? I use a lot of vegetables in soup, its very filling and not too calorific. 300 calories for a sandwich sounds ok actually, if you're having it…

Ah, we'd need an entire new thread for the all words for being drunk! Especially in Scotland. My favourites are blootered and miroculous!

Depending where you are in Britain, "trolleys" means underpants!

So, can one of our American friends tell me what a "biscuit" is? I keep hearing Americans talking about having biscuits with gravy. To us, a biscuit is something you eat with a cup of tea. Like a cookie, but we only call certain biscuits cookies. All cookies are biscuits but not all biscuits are cookies!

When my daughter was little her spelling homework was to write a word 5 times then use it in a sentence. Her teacher once gave her "curb". I asked her what her teacher said it meant, and she said the edge of the pavement. As we live in Britain, I made her write "My mother told me to curb my language" as her example! She…

I'm Scottish too and sometimes I use words that I don't realise aren't actually English and then wonder why people don't understand me!

I'm north of Scotland, feel free to add me anyone who wants!
