  • I used the guidelines on the American Diabetes website and set my macros to those and it works fine.
  • What an amazing story! You are awesome! I, too, was diagnosed diabetic this past June so decided I needed to get my weight off. I'm aiming to lose 100# and am down 54# so far. My blood sugar isn't down to normal yet, but I'm no longer considered diabetic. Am now considered pre-diabetic. I get checked again in April and am…
  • I, too, have found that "eyeballing" it all the time tends to lead to larger portions and more calories than I think I'm eating. I measure at home but when I know I'm going out to eat, I check their menu on-line ahead of time and figure out what I can have. That way you just order it and no one questions "Are you on a…
  • I'm 5'7" and medium frame. I think a lot of it depends on your age. When I was 18, I weighed 130#. When I was 35, I weighed 160#. Then I gained up to 256.5#! I'm on my way back down now and at age 61, I'm aiming for 156. A 100# weight loss. I'll see how I feel at that point, but am thinking it will be pretty good.…
  • Even if you "feel" like you've blown it, keep logging ALL of your food -- every bite -- and you WILL get back on track. Just don't stop logging it all in. If you do, they you'll have no idea of how much you are putting in your mouth. This, too, shall pass. Don't beat yourself up. Just keep on keeping on and it will get…
  • Eating the way you do has essentially shut down your body's metabolic furnace! It thinks it is starving and therefore won't let go of any weight. You're killing yourself by eating so little AND you HAVE to drink liquids! I started at 256# in June. I'm 61 years old. I have an underactive thyroid and am on medication for it.…
  • OK, I think I figured out the "ticker" thing so will see how it shows up with this post.
  • Can anyone tell me how to get my weight loss to show up on my little lady bug banner?
  • Whoop! Whoop! That is a major milestone! Congratulations! I can't wait 'til I get there! So very tired of being fat. I've let it go way too many years!
  • You're beautiful! Keep it up!
  • Wow Ed! 311 pounds lost! That's amazing! congratulations!
  • OK, I posted my weight today and the loss isn't showing up on my tracker below my last entry. Does anyone know why not?
  • HI! I lost 30# last year on my own, but have stalled out this year -- can't seem to do it. So I'm excited about this challenge. My weigh-in last week was 231 and today it was 229.5. So that was good. I still have a loooooong way to go but I know I'll get there eventually! My goal was to do it slowly -- about 30# a year x…
  • Bacon isn't healthy? LOL! We always think a wrap would be low calorie, but usually it isn't much better than a sandwich would be. I usually opt for Subway or Wendy's.

  • Well, I've been tracking EVERY BITE that has gone into my mouth and done the necessary activity/exercise and still gained. However, I'm under a LOT of stress right now as hubby doesn't exactly have a job this fall; so I'm thinking maybe the nasty cortisol giant is messing me up.
  • My goal weight is 150-155. I think that's low enough for my age (58). Have a long ways to go. In fact, I've been charting EVERYTHING I put in my mouth and all of my exercise, etc. staying within the points the site gives me and I've GAINED weight! lol! My life is very stressful right now so I'm thinking it's probably the…
