I'd love to join if it's not too late. Thank you!

I think everyone needs to lay off this OP. I have done various fitness challenges with a group of friends to help motivate us to keep moving and stay healthy. Multiple times we have done squats challenges, without a barbell (geez!). Sometimes we challenge each other to do 10 squats every hour... and yes, I have done these…

I love Dr. Melissa West yoga. She has over 200 free hour long classes on YouTube or on drmelissawest.com. She is a great teacher. :) She has several videos that are titled "beginners" (try episode 101 or 117) but she runs her classes so that really anyone can do any of them. She offers modifications for more complex poses…

I started at about 230 and lost 100 lbs at my lowest weight. This was over a two year period. I recommend patience and small lifestyle changes. I started walking about 20 minutes a day, 4 days a week on my lunch break. It worked well for me. I gradually increased my speed and lenght of my walk; then started adding evening…

I always eat in the car on my commute into work. I make my breakfast to go while I get the kids ready and off to school in the morning. I use two pieces of whole wheat toast with 1T natural pb and 1T low sugar jam; plus a banana (under 350 cals with the bread I use) Poach an egg and/or egg white (I use one of each) in the…

Usually I have 2 pieces of whole wheat toast with one egg and one egg white poached (in the microwave) and about an ounce of cheddar; plus a banana or maybe some other fruit. Today I had 1/2 cup of oatmeal with 1/4 cup of Silk dark chocolate almond milk and a half a banana sliced in the oatmeal (YUM!!)

Dannon light and fit greek yogurt is 80 calories per 5.3 oz container. It's delicious and fills me up at snack time :) I usually have fruit with it as well. Maybe some egg whites... low calories, but still has protein? Part Skim or 2% cheese? I like the Target brand (Market Pantry) 2% string cheese; it's 50 calories per…

I'm all about using your own body weight to tone.... Lots of squats, lots of push ups, lots of crunches... and all sorts of variations of those exercises. I lost approximately 100 lbs over the last three years, the first 50 I lost just by walking almost everyday and "watching" what I ate; that took about 2 years. The last…

I have been tracking for almost a year and have often thought about stopping since I am now down below my goal weight. I do take days off from logging, and I have managaged to maintain my weight. I feel confidant enough that I know if I take a day or two off from tracking, it won't derail all my hard work. I still try to…

Thanks for posting, this came at a perfect time for my hubby who recently started back on MFP and put on a pound this past week after working hard and eating right. I'm excited to share it with him tonight and give a little perspective! :)

Your story gave me goose bumps! Good for you and congratulations :) I also have stetch marks and some nice floppy skin above my c-section scar. I'm still working on losing the "fat in my head" part of it; and you gave me some definite inspiration to try to move forward. I'm a sucker for the success stories; and yours is…

I am a big advocate for breakfast. For me, personally when I work out in the morning I usually will have a banana and glass of water before my workout. Sometimes half a piece of toast with peanut butter, or a glass of milk instead. I also am on maintenance, so not trying to lose weight anymore. But even when I was losing,…

I loved this, thank you for sharing. I think that it may also hint at why this site is so successful. I suspect that most of the people here are still "fat on the inside." We are all working to reap the benefits of no longer being fat, but holding onto the parts of ourselves that we love and are able to respect in each…

bump, thanks for the ideas. I am adding these to my menu for the week! :)

Don't give up what you want most, for what you want now!

Drink lots of water! IMO it's the best thing you can do for your body!

I am right in the boat with you. I have been struggling with the same thing. I have quit smoking multiple times but get roped back in VERY easily. I'm what you'd call a "social smoker" at this point. For me, I believe smoking is worse; none the less, I tend to gravitate to that more easily. I know having a cigarette will…

LOL! I love this! He's right though, having healthy snacks READILY available makes it easier. I try to always cut up lots of veggies and have tons of fruit in the house. I also, frankly, just don't buy the stuff I really really want to eat, but know that I will regret (like ice cream!) However, I DID buy Girl Scout cookies…

^^I totally agree with this. I am at my goal weight and use MFP as a tool. I use it *almost* every day; I don't enter every recipe that someone else cooks for me; I don't worry about eating a piece of cake at a birthday party or having a few treats on a holiday. I celebrate with food when it's appropriate. The lifestyle…

Good for you and Happy Birthday! I'm also turning 33 this year; I'll have to look back at my pics from 10 years ago. Thanks for the idea ;)

I did not read everyone's posts so maybe this has already been addressed, but I think you'd feel more full for about 20 minutes. I believe there is little to no nutritional content in basicly any fast food. Plus sooo much sodium and FAT! I mean, if you have a craving, go for it... but seriously not a good lifestyle change…

IMO - if you want to lose weight and be HEALTHY you need to eat more healthy, natural food. I personally feel that the lifestyle change that went along with losing weight was more important then just getting under my calories. Don't get me wrong, I still eat "junk" occasionally. I just know now that this type of eating…

I have quit multiple times in the past and am planning on quitting again as of 3/1. I was previously a full time smoker, had my kids and quit save a few packs here and there over the past 6 years. I have been a "weekend smoker" for the past several months; maybe a year. In December, 2012, and this month, February 2013, due…

I just give a good guess at entering what is in the food I order. There are a lot of entries in MFP so I usually check the nutritional value on a handful of similar items and take one that seems middle of the pack. I'm on maintenance though, not trying to lose weight anymore. I'm intetersted to see what others have to say…
