Oh happy days! I am so happy to read this. I've always been one to feel the cold but over the last couple of years this seems to be getting worse. My OH is like a furnace and I am the 'polar' opposite. I can be sat on the sofa with multiple layers on and yet feel cold on the inside. It is so annoying and makes me feel so…

This gives me hope! I joined MFP just over 3 years ago and lost the weight I wanted without too much difficulty. I have been happily maintaining for a couple of years now, with only minor fluctuations. At 48 I am fairly sure I am premenopausal, with the odd skipped periods over the last couple of years. However, a couple…

This was how it was for me too. In the process of adding some pounds now and then when I get back to where I feel I should be I''ll give maintenance another shot.

Just turned 47 and I'm fairly sure I'm at the start of all this. Periods are pretty regular still most of the time although I think they are a little lighter now. For me the thing that seems the most obvious change is my lack of tolerance leading up to my period and also total irrationality, tears, emotional upset from…

I'm 5'6 1/2" I started out at 145 lbs in Aug 2012 with no real idea of where I wanted to end up. At the beginning of Dec 2013 I found myself at 117 lbs. I knew this was much lower than I should be and have been reassessing over the last couple of months where I really want to be. I'm thinking now that I would be better off…

After reaching my goal weight I carried on logging while trying to ascertain my maintenance calories. I initially stopped logging at weekends but was still losing some weight. At the beginning of December last year I felt I was then getting a bit too fixated on my calories and needed to give myself a total break and so I…

This sounds a lot like me - I also tried upping my target in order to get past this need to beat it but somehow still managed to lose some more weight. I could have sworn I was eating more! Anyway, I've decided now to give myself a break from logging food every day. A whole month off without logging. I think I need it to…

I'm beginning to think this might account for why, even though I have recently increased my calories, I'm still slightly under the weight I'm trying to maintain.

I've been maintaining for around 6 months now, Thought I'd nailed it but weighed myself this morning and found I'd lost again. I log every weekday but have been giving myself weekends off for a few months now. Today I've decided to up my daily cals again and see where I end up. Really don't want to be losing any more,…

Interesting to hear that Robin. I've been not logging weekends but continuing logging during the week since April 27th 2013, with good results. I've been tempted to try not logging for a longer period but I have a feeling that over the long term my weight may well gradually creep up again. I think I may continue as I am…

At the moment I am still weighing daily and logging the weight on MFP once a week. I find it's a hard habit to break but I find it interesting to note the fluctuations and working out what causes them. Maintaining now for a few months, which has included not logging food at weekends and it's all working out well.

I made the most of the all day rain here in Surrey by taking the opportunity to have a thorough clear out of my wardrobe. All the clothes that no longer fit me have been bundled up to go to the charity shop thus creating lots of room for all the lovely new (smaller sized) clothes that I now own

I'm 5'6.5" and probably closest to "pear" shaped. SW: 145 CW: 121 I never really had an end goal weight but I know that where I'm at now feels right for me so I have been working at maintaining the last few months. Started out a UK size 12-14 now UK 8-10 and having great fun clearing out old clothes and bringing in some…

When I finally reached a weight I was happy with I decided to up my calories very gradually by 50 calories per day (so overall 350 cals over the course of a week). I'd already worked out approximately what my maintenance calories should be so continued doing this until I reached that level. This approach worked well for…

I've always been one to weigh myself pretty much every day but whatever my weight is on a Tuesday is the one I've recorded on MFP. I find it interesting to observe the various fluctuations and don't get overly concerned if there is an upwards shift at any point. It usually seems to balance itself back out again. I've been…

@jennitm - Well, it's only been two weekends so far (one of which was a bank holiday so I also included the Monday) - but so far it's been fine :-) It actually felt very liberating to not log after being pretty meticulous about it for so long! Give it a try - it isn't as scary as I thought it would be

As a Brit I've always been baffled by the depiction of American high Schools in the movies - is it really like that then? All those different cliques, food fights every day in the canteen, spontaneously bursting into song & dance routines  Secondary school in the UK was never that much fun, I'm a little envious…

I have finally settled at a weight (give or take a couple of pounds) that I and my body are happy with. I've continued logging my food daily while I've been figuring out what I can eat in order to maintain this weight. Today I have decided it is time for me to start trusting myself - to believe that I have learnt over the…

Hi there, I'm not a smoker but my partner was (for over 30 years). He found this book on Amazon and never looked back. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Allen-Carrs-Easy-Stop-Smoking/dp/0718194551/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top It gets lots of good reviews and maybe it will help you. Good Luck!

I love being in maintenance mode. I find it fascinating to see just how much I can eat now without worrying about gaining weight.

As a Brit, I have to say all the cup references in the food database have confused me for quite a while but now thanks to this thread I understand at last!

I'm 5ft 6 ½ and started out at around 145lbs. I have reached my goal weight of 123.5lbs and now moved into maintenance mode. I dropped a little lower while trying to figure out maintenance calories but felt I was getting way too bony for that. Feeling happy where I am at the moment.

Yes, I appreciate that, I was just curious really.

Yup - I guess you are right. I'm inclined to think the higher number is probably closer to the reality. 21.2% seems awfully low....... Thanks for the reply!

I had lunch in Pizza express today and chose the Veneziana. Always a favourite of mine

Bump! Anyone able to help me out here or did I already answer my own question? Thanks Liz
