Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!!! I was swimming for an hour 5 times a week, strength training with my trainer 3 times a week and then biking 4-5 times a week. I had lost 35 pounds since I started in October and then 2 and a half weeks ago I had a bike accident and broke my arm. It is driving my crazy not being able to workout.…

I made these and took them to my office. The entire office loved them!!! They were so moist! I did add a 1 tsp of cinnamon in the muffin mix as well as the cinnamon/sugar on top. Plus I used unsweetened almond milk rather than the nonfat mix. I highly recommend this recipe!!!

First of all ---- GO TO YOUR DOCTOR!!! You need to find out for certain what is wrong with your knee so it can be corrected and you can get back to doing the cardio you enjoy. I speak from first hand experience; I was walking 5 miles a day until one day my knee was bothering me a little. I figured I could just "walk it…

I’ve heard so many pros and cons and there is so much debate about artificial sweeteners. Here is my take on them. Many people will tell you that artificial sweeteners may affect insulin causing a spike in insulin production; however, that depends on the sweetener. The studies I have found show that aspartame, was shown…

The reason you have to let your muscles rest when you weight lift is because weight-bearing activity increases the friction between sliding fibers and breaks down the outside layer of utilized fibers. Minor fiber breakdown during weight lifting is a natural and desired outcome -- as long as adequate rest permits mending.…

I made it through day one!! I went to a high school track since the weather was so nice. I think it would be harder to do on a treadmill. I'm quite proud of myself, never ran before in my life and made it through the entire thing. I must say I was very happy when it was time to walk again.

I'm starting today. I was walking 5-6 miles per day until I ended up with a stress fracture of my tibia. Since I could not walk I turned to swimming and biking for my cardio. I've enjoyed them so much that I got it into my head that I want to train for a sprint triathlon so I've been waiting for my tibia to heal so I could…

I get up every morning at 5 am and swim for an hour and half. There are some mornings that I want to hit the snooze button and I just talk to myself and tell myself I need to do it and remind myself how great I feel after the swim.

People complain all the time about what benefits they don't get at work. No one is a slave, if you don't like your work environment, pay, benefits, etc.; you are more than free to find another job. There are some drawbacks to working for a small business but there are some advantages to. What you have to do is decide if…

It's Christmas NOT xmas; you are removing Christ and replacing it with an x when you call it Christmas. And Christmas is not just a day to get lots of gifts, it is the celebration of Christ's birthday.

I think it is worth every penny. It is such a great self motivator, you want to see the steps increase, the miles increase, the floors increase but most of all I want to see the flower grow.....it keeps me moving. I never leave home without mine clipped to my bra.

I'm 55 years old and was 30 years old for my first one and every single year since then. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer while they were preforming her heart by-pass surgery. Not the best news to get once you make it through open heart surgery. It was her heart that finally took her away from us by having to…

I will be 55 in November. I started exercising in the beginning of August. I started out walking 15 minutes every day and gradually built it up to an hour and a half (5 miles 6 days/week). However, during one of my walks I got a stress fracture in my tibia thanks to my osteoporosis. That ended my walking so I had to find…

When my husband and I started our lifestyle change are exercise of choice was walking. I had built up to walking 5 miles a day around our neighborhood. I love it! Then one evening my knee started bothering me some but I thought I could just "walk it out". By the time I completed my walk I was in tears, the next morning I…

I know the feeling, I have a stress fracture in my tibia that has limited my work outs as well. I swim 6 times a week for an hour and a half, cycle 3 times a week and do strength training in my upper body only 3 times a day. There are things you can do when the doctor limits you. I LOVE the swimming, if you an indoor pool…

My best suggestion is to talk to your doctor and if he/she agrees with you then have your doctor talk to your mom. If your doctor agrees with your mother than listen to his/her advice.

There are TONS of different hotels at WDW in Florida. Go to the Disney website and you can enter how much you want to spend per night and they will give you the list of hotels on site that fit what you want to spend. We go all the time to WDW since we only live about 6 hours away. Staying on site is the best way to go,…
