Hey! Plant based for 7 years and 60 pounds down to 142 this year, I don’t NEED to lose 20 pounds but it wouldn’t hurt to lose 17 😎 I’m working on meditation to adjust my expectations from food and trying to get my hips to be stronger and more flexible so that running won’t hurt. I’m always battling IT and patellar issues 😞…

5’4” and 140 lbs at 53 years old. I was thrilled with this weight 15 years ago but now I’m not as consistent with the weight training as I was then and oy, my joints often hurt at night 🙄 My goal was initially to lose weight and I’ve lost 60 lbs this last year but always have the goal to eat a low fat whole food plant…

Check out the blog "Brand New Vegan" His recipes are the most yummy and compliant with WFPB

I always liked Garden of Life Raw organic protein. They’ve changed the formula over the years and it’s still good. Haven’t tried Vega but always more expensive.
-
Did you ever figure it out? Sometimes I think that I’m not losing because I’m exhausted and sore (inflammation)
-
I would and could....no fear of soy here!...but have been happy with 16.5 g of protein per serving here.

Until I’m sure I know how to get back here, my kitchari changes depending on my taste buds but I use the recipe on The Elephant Journal as a reference. Not doing oil but knowing that some spices are more bio available with it, I’ll start by sizzling in 1 tsp olive oil: 1/2 tbsp brown mustard seeds, 1/2 tbsp whole…

Vegan. Constantly trying to up my protein but stay with whole foods, not too processed. And lose weight so, 1200 calories or under...sigh... Kitchari is an Indian stew made with split mung beans and yellow split peas. I’ll make a giant pot of it and freeze in single servings to have as lunch. Mung beans are very high…

Also google vegan ketosis. Good info for people avoiding carbs. I was lazy today, but usually average 55g daily protein without trying.

yes. Vegan here. I use MFP to track calories and protein. But I eat grains which helps. I avoid fats where I can so I don't eat a lot of nuts, though I have some cashews soaking for a cream sauce as I write this.....don't like to waste them.... Lots of info on the web! Go to Vegan bodybuilders. This was a good post today,…

Using your body weight or free weights instead of the machines actually makes your body stronger all over because you have to always keep your balance/ use your core. I've been strength training for years and I love this guy's site for ideas: http://www.whyiexercise.com/body-weight-exercises.html Building and or…

Loud music is my biggest complaint! I like alternative music, not pop. Until recently, my gym wasn't obnoxious but they moved and added a bunch of weightlifting stations so when the teenage boys moved in, so did the g-d speakers. I was listening to the Black Keys last night and couldnt hear a thing. Makes me MAD. I spoke…

Get your vitaminD tested!! I have been depressed for most of my life but the last 9 months of consistent healthy food, exercise and 10,000 units of Vitamin D every other day have changed my life. It's still hard to face the mountain of crap but I'm starting to whittle away at it. My parents both died 3 years ago within 6…

I'm so glad you are one of my MFP friends! You are awesome!

Get over yourself. Oh yeah, you're so STRONG and anyone who eats when there hormones are screaming is SO WEAK. You judgmental a$$hat. I can't tell you how many times i've wanted to cry if I couldn't have a bag of chips, ate it and felt better only to get my period the next day. If that doesnt happen to you, then you are…

Wow. What a drama queen. Arnol?!?

thanks for letting us know. We've all been tempted.

Yep I'm on the slow train. Its hard to balance weight loss and energy levels and a SOCIAL LIFE. It seems all my friends are set on excess while I'm learning how much better I feel when I eat less and eat healthy. But come party time, there is wine and tater tots and shrimp and grits and cheese and olive oil and…

I get Trader Joes 50% less sodium roasted almonds and eat a few of them when I need a salty fix during the day. And I tried light popcorn and air popped popcorn but I'm picky! I started popping 1/4 cup corn in a pan on the stove with 1/2 a tablespoon of olive oil. It's a big enough serving to satisfy and there's enough oil…

CONGRATULATIONS! Thanks for posting!

why not avoid it if you can? It tastes like crap and the only reason its in everything is to make some really awful people a lot of money. Of course they will hide and dismiss any negative test results. When I want something sweet, I use fruit or real sugar. Sometimes stevia. I'm sure someone is working on a way to…

The HRM is monitoring how hard you work, not your height and weight. The more often you take Zumba classes, the easier it will get and the less calories you will burn whether or not you "lose weight." You will have more muscle and your heart will be in better condition. So if you are wearing a chest strap, its probably…

THIS! Or Roasted Seaweed Sheets also from TJs or Annie Chung. Love em. Also popcorn. Sometimes though and by sometimes I mean once a month, I just eat the carbs I NEED. Often a whole bag of tortilla chips. Then I wake up the next day, go to the gym and stay within my calorie goal as best I can as usual.

Far as I can tell, guys are all about how girls look when they are looking for a girlfriend and then they stay with the girls who are smart enough to be true to themselves. Good luck and Godspeed.

LMAO! Babies thinking mid-30s is old. Yeah, its kinda sad.

An italian cold cut sub. Loaded with hots. Or chocolate. Either one.

I'm totally bored with dieting BUT I know how to do it now. Eat at BMR, 25% fat or less, keep 45-50% of your carbs as VEGETABLES. I personally dont eat meat or dairy but whatever. It obviously doesnt matter as long as you watch what kind of calories you eat.
