Take a deep breath. You can do this! First, click on the tab labeled FOOD. You should see today's date at the top. There are arrows to the left and right that will allow you to go forward or backward in the week. Make sure the date is today's date. Now, click on "Add Food" (you will find under each of the meals). This will…

I know you can do this. Don't get discouraged and don't give up. As others have said, your sodium is up. I see you are eating lunch meat, which is very high in sodium. Are you drinking plenty of water? The swollen ankles would definitely tell me you are retaining the water. You may try to add in more fruits/vegetables and…

Amazing story! Thank you for sharing. You are an inspiration! I am such a wimp, especially on days like today with all the snow in SE WI. Awesome work and keep it up!

Hi. I see you are also from Milwaukee. Amazing results! You are so beautiful. Congratulations!!!

Welcome to MFP! I know you will continue to see success on the scale if you enter everything you eat and all the exercise you get. I have been on since 1/3/13 and have dropped 15 lbs. It is slow and steady. I will send you a friend request to help you along the way. I do find that having my friends supporting me has…

Congratulations on your weight loss so far. I can definitely see the loss in your face! Keep up the hard work. You're doing fantastic!

Yeah for you! Keep it up!!! My last was 8.1 (on 1/12), and I know it will be in the 7's or lower when I go back in April. Diet and exercise really do help!

Amazing story. Thank you so much for sharing!!!

Start with small things like portion control and eating less refined sugars. Add more fruits and vegetables (fruit is better for you than a candy bar, so eat that instead of the sweets). If there is only one vegetable you will eat, then eat that to fill you up. Try different ways to add protein into your diet. That will…

First of all, congrats on asking the questions and starting to get healthier. I have been a Type 2 diabetic for about 8 years and have not always been good about watching what I eat or getting my exercise. My doctor would keep getting upset with me because I would never lose weight and my A1C was always pretty high. In…

Fist of all, welcome to MFP. I would only advise you to start working to make yourself healthier. I didn't listen to my doctors and didn't lose the weight and I am now taking insulin to control my Type 2 diabetes. However, since losing only 15 lbs and getting to the gym and working out 4-5 times per week for at least 30…

Hi Jackie, welcome to MFP! You have made the first two big steps - signing up and posting on the forums. It looks like we have similar amounts to lose. I am sending you a friend request and will support you along the way. We can do this! - Nancy

Yes, you can eat anything you want. But you will find, that with 1200 calories, you will want to eat more fruits/veggies, whole grains and protein to make you feel less hungry. 1200 calories is not a lot, especially when you start looking at labels and measure/weigh the foods you eat. Also, keep in mind that you can eat…

I currently use the Accu-Chek Aviva, but have used the Breeze and other Accu-Chek meters. I have found that both are very accurate readers. My insurance has changed a number of times and so seem to have to change meters ever couple of years. I don't understand how the insurance company can restrict the amount of strips if…

Hi Kate, I live in Grafton (just north of Milwaukee) and work in Milwaukee. Grew up in Racine. Gotta love Wisconsin, although not so much in February...too dreary most days!

Amazing transformation! I love that you are wearing dresses to show off your figure! You have worked hard and the results are most definitely showing. Keep it up!!!

I will send you a friend request and we can do this together! Keep up the hard work and I look forward to watching your progress!

Welcome to MFP! My husband and I joined on 1/3/13 and both have had success. It really does help that we have each other to support along this journey and since our goals are to be healthy for ourselves, each other and our kids, it makes sense that we would support each other. Congrats on your loss so far. I will send you…

Welcome to MFP. I will send you a friend request! I have been on MFP since 1/3/13 and have lost 15 lbs. I am excited by this! I always joke that I still carry my baby weight, but my baby is now 16 (really no excuses). Anyway, you can do this. Just honestly track everything you eat and enter your exercise and you will start…

Welcome to MFP! Congrats on making it this far - posting something on the forums. It is great that you and your wife are doing this together; it helps a lot. My husband and I are losing together also, and it makes all the difference. I wish you continued success along your way!

Congratulations on your weight loss. It really does hold me accountable as well. I have lost 15 lbs since the first of the year. It is slow, but steady. And that is one of the keys to being successful. I wish you well and continued success!

Hi and welcome! I am newer to MFP as well. Started on 1/3/13 and have lost 15 lbs. Without being able to see your diary, it is hard to say what you are doing wrong. I sent you a friend request, though, and maybe I can help. Here are a couple of suggestions: 1) weigh everything you eat that is not already preportioned 2)…

First of all, WELCOME! You have made a big step in joining MFP and adding your first post. I have been using MFP for 6 weeks and have dropped 15 lbs. I still have another 65 to go. I have been successful by eating real food with my real family. I am married and have 3 children living at home (1 recent graduate from…
