I'm 5ft 10 and would like to get to 165. Currently 221, and short term under 200 would be fantastic!
-
W6D1 done - even upped the pace for the last 5 mins. May get to be a runner yet!
-
Thanks everyone.... outside is on the list, maybe not just yet though :)
-
I'm in Essex, but a little more to the east, in Harwich - just past Colchester.

Week5, day3 done! The dreaded 20 mins out of the way! Only downside is I am doing it on the treadmill. Can't bring myself to try it outside.
-
Just finished week 4, day 3. Ready for the next 2, but trying not to think of the 20 mins on wk5, d3.
-
That makes me feel so much better!! I'm running at that pace, and have just completed W4D2 today. Can't bear to think of the 20 min run that's coming up in a couple of weeks :) That's where I gave up last time.

Great to hear I'm not the only one... I'm on week 4 of C25K, although did complete it once before and got to 30 mins running - can't imagine ever been able to do it again at the moment! I gave up last time and never reached my goal of running a 5K, so have renewed determination this time round. I do feel that I can walk…

Hi - I think this is pretty normal when you first start off. I re-started 2 weeks ago after a long (LONG!!!) break and have also lost just over 8 lbs in 2 weeks. I'm not expecting to keep it up and my aim is to be hitting 1 - 2 lbs every week. I can't comment on whether your intake is too low - I'm definitely of the camp…

Hi - I'm in the UK & just jumped back on board the MFP bus. Looking forward to watching you achieve your goals!

I still have over 50 to go - Unfortunately I'm very a remorseful boomerang (returner to the site)... had lost quite a bit 2 years ago and then in the last year have gone up and down by 7-14 pounds at a time and then pretty quickly another 14 in less than 2 months! Really needed to get back on the wagon - so am on a renewed…

Thanks again everyone - I'll try C25K again, but this time outside. Will stick at it :)
-
Thanks everyone! Really appreciate the advice. I am booked into my first 5K in 4 weeks time, and am feeling under some presure as haven't even run 1 mile non-stop outside. I guess I just have to keep at it!! :)
-
Thanks for your thoughts - my problem with pace is that I'm going too fast and can't seem to gauge what is achievable. Probably become too reliant on the treadmill info. I'll need to just keep trying as you've suggested.

Yes - I have a shock each time I see myself unexpectedly. It's strange because before I lost the weight, I always had a mental image of being smaller than I was, and now its's the opposite. Not sure what it will be like once I'm at goal.... Looking forward to trying it out though!

I had (and still do) a lot to lose - it took about 30lbs before I comfortably dropped a dress size and bought some new outfits. That was when some people started to comment, but it was probably nearer 50lbs when everyone started to say something. You've made a great start and I wish you continued success!

I started at over 280, and it took at least 30lbs before people started to notice. I'd been wearing clothes that were probably too small for me, so I dropped quite a lot of weight before I needed new clothes. It was great when I did though! Can't wait for my next dress size drop. As everyone else has said, keep going and…

Another vote for walking - I had done NO exercise for so long, it was all I could manage at first, but slowly made me feel great and certainly helped with the weight loss.

Hi and welcome on board. You'll soon see that there is lots of UK users and I'm sure we'll all be pleased to support you. Good luck with achieving your goals
-
Good luck everyone - looking forward to seeing some great success for us all. This is just the motivation I need to get me heading in the right direction again.

Welcome - I'm sure you'll enjoy getting to know everyone and I wish you lots of success on your journey.

Hi - happy to join you on the journey. I've been going at this for nearly a year and although have lost quite a bit, it seems to have come to a standstill now and I'm after a renewed effort for the next few months.

Hi - we did a 7 night cruise at the end of the summer and I managed to come back without gaining, although I also didn't lose anything! I ate a usual breakfast, little or nothing for lunch and then ate normally at dinner time, but missed the desserts. I also exercised every day. I have another one in 4 weeks time and I'm…

Morning all!! Just checking in before heading out to the gym. Hope everyone has a great day :)

I used the NHS podcasts and they were just what I needed to get started. I had to try week 1 for a few weeks before I finally conquered it, but I can now run for 30 minutes - I'm still fairly slow, but I figure I can take my time on improving pace.
-
I think that kind of loss sounds good - I know it can be difficult to stay motivated when there's no loss one week, but I do try and keep an eye on the long term picture.
