I agree with the above. Chocolate milk is awesome for recovery! Before I run (just finished a half marathon), I usually eat a Clif Bar, a bottle of water, and a Gatorade Prime. After I run, I drink Gatorade and water to restore electrolytes and will have a whey protein shake (chocolate). Running usually curbs my appetite…

That's awesome!! Way to go! Once you do run outside, you probably won't be able to get back on the dreadmill! At least, that's what I have found.

Also, a large part of running is mental. Probably at least 50% mental. I usually do a check- "Am I in pain? No. Ok, keep going!" I like to use Runkeeper to track my pace and distance to try to improve.

I started the couch to 5 k in May and just finished running my first half marathon! The problem that I had with running in the past was pacing myself. Sometimes you will notice a change in the way your clothes fit (looser) before you notice a change in the scale. I usually only weigh myself once a week, same time each day.

I eat a bowl of cereal everyday for breakfast. On days that I run, I eat a Clif Bar. Sometimes, on the weekend I will eat eggs but for the most part...always cereal around 6 am. Then I have a snack around 10 (usually fruit or greek yogurt).

MM...love dark chocolate! So satisfying. I like it plain, chocolate covered pretzels, dark chocolate dipped fruit, dark chocolate raisins, dark chocolate cereal, eat it in my yogurt...(and the list goes on). I probably eat it everyday!

I usually drink whey protein which has about 140 mg of calcium mixed with nonfat milk w/vitamin A & D (more calcium) after I run.

Zumba! I take a Zumba toning class where you hold 2 pound weights and work on toning your arms, shoulders, abs, etc while having a good time dancing!!

Maybe they are having pizza and quick meals because they don't have time or want to take the effort to cook? Perhaps, you could step in and help with the grocery shopping and cooking?! Keep up the exercising!
