  • W5D3 Done too! Congratulations! I've been doing it on the treadmill inside due to really cold and snowy weather. Got the incline at 1.5 to simulate running outside. I was really pooped at the end but very proud of myself for finishing this week's 20 minute final run. Curious about reading how fast people are running…
  • Scared. I'm afraid that I won't be able to do it and then will have to start over anyway. Oh well, might as well go back to W5 D1 so I can be confident finishing Week 5. Thanks for responding.
  • WOW! Congratulations on all your hard work and achievement!:flowerforyou:
  • Hi. Also 61 and been a lurker on MFP for a while as well. Working hard to move more and eat less and not "reward" myself with food or stress eat. It does seem harder to lose weight with age, and it especially shows around the middle. Would enjoy sharing this journey with you. There's a group for over 50's, how 'bout a…
  • I would probably order the soup of the day if it was a consome or vegetable based soup and order the chicken breast open sandwich and tell them to hold the foccacia bread. Alternatively I might order the vegetable salad served with the dressing on the side.
  • I bought the Garmin 610 last year and I love it! Besides having a walk/run option, it has a vibrating alert which really comes in handy in a noisy environment or wearing it under a jacket during the winter. Yesterday, for the first time ever, I got lost on the trail I was running. Using the "Where am I?" feature, I…
  • Congratulations! You look wonderful and happy in your newer photos. How wonderful that you are taking care of your health and in doing so, have added years to your life.
  • Hi, I'm Sharon. Just ran in the NY Mini 10K today, an all woman race around and in Central Park. I'm relatively new to running, having started last year doing 5K's and building up to the More 1/2 Marathon in April. I'm 60 years old and have always been pretty much of a slup when it came to exercise, but I really enjoy…
  • Fantastic! What a transformation! Congratulations on your great efforts! :flowerforyou:
  • Hi. Unfortunately the only way I know to truly lose weight is to move more and eat less. As you and your boyfriend have found out, drastic diets may work in the short term but aren't sustainable in the long run. If you're on a restrictive diet you feel deprived and think about food all the time. I love watching "The…
  • Hi. Also new to the group and new to running. Did my first 1/2 marathon in April in NY's Central Park and was proud to finish! Started training for my next one in October doing the Galloway Run/Walk/Run method. I'd like to become friends with:happy: women who run too, please feel free to add me!
  • Polar makes a high quality heart monitor. You can purchase a basic one for around $50-60. The price increases the more bells and whistles it has. :flowerforyou:
